Son objectif est de produire des biens et services tout en limitant fortement la consommation et le gaspillage des matières premières, et des sources d'énergies non renouvelables ;

ViscoseIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : In a world where textile fiber production and demands continue to rise, generating a staggering Io° million tons of waste annually, the environmental and economic challenges associated with textile waste have become increasingly evident. This study explores the transformative potential of sustainable developments in acrylic fiber upcycling, focusing on its pivotai role in addressing the textile industry's shift towards a circular economy. Acrylic fiber, constituting 1.3 million tons annually, presents a unique challenge due to its widespread use in multi-material textiles. The research introduces an interesting chemical upcycling technology that is not only overcome the hurdle of fiber blends but also showcases diverse applications for the resulting polyacrylate solution, offering an eco-friendly solution for textile dye processes and contributing to reduced environmental impact. This innovative approach represents a significant step towards a more sustainable and economically viable future for the textile industry, aligning with the principles of zero waste, cost-effectiveness, and environmental efficiency. To effectively reduce the emissions of pollutants and the dosage of sodium sulphate added during dyeing and finishing, a cationisation reagent, 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride, was used to modify cotton fabric before dyeing and finishing. The cationised cotton fabrics obtained 0.18% active chlorine loadings and good dye depth after the simultaneous dyeing and finishing process with low addition of sodium sulphate. The chlorinated fabrics inactivated all inoculated Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive) and Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) within 10 minutes of contact. The treated cotton fabric maintained high breaking strength as well as good washing stability. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The current commercial application of ink-jet reactive inks to cotton fabrics requires pretreating with pad liquor containing a thickener, urea and alkali prior to printing. In this study, attempts have been made to develop a reactive ink-jet print in a single-phase process by adding an organic salt to the ink formulation and hence removing the need to pretreat fabrics. This approach utilises inks containing both a reactive dye, in this case Procion Red H-E3B, and an organic salt such as sodium formate, sodium acetate, sodium propionate or tri-sodium citrate. The behaviour of a novel reactive ink formulation for ink-jet printing on to cotton fabric was evaluated at different pH vlaues. The results at optimum pH indicated that printed non-pretreated fabrics with ink containing organic salts exhibited a higher level of reactive dye fixation than printed pretreated fabric containing no organic salt ink. The yielded prints demonstrate excellent colour fastness to washing and dry/wet crocking properties. The light fastness of the printed fabrics was improved by adding an organic salt to the ink formulation. Teinture au tamponIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : The cationic modification technology for cotton could greatly enhance colour strength and fixation of reactive dyes. However, it is a two-step method when cationic modification is applied to salt-free dyeing. Cotton fabric is initially treated with a cationic compound through exhaust or pad-cure, acid washing and drying process, then the cationic modified cotton is dyed with reactive dye. In this study, a single-step pad-steam cationisation and dyeing process was proposed to shorten the process and improve dye fixation. The fixation reaction between reactive dye and cotton fabrics was conducted at the temperature range 100–140°C and relative humidity range 40–90%. The effects of quaternary ammonium salt and inorganic salt as well as alkaline agent on K/S value and dye fixation were also studied. Furthermore, the drying kinetic of the wet cotton fabric was studied in this article. The result showed that the drying process fitted well to the Page model. The effective moisture diffusivity of wet cotton under different steaming conditions were calculated. An activation energy value of 32.25 kJ/mol was determined. Compared with the conventional process, a single-step pad-steam cationisation and dyeing process not only shortened the process but also increased K/S value and dye fixation.

Textiles et tissusIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The cellulose-based textiles currently used in hospitals are good conducive materials for cross-infection or transmission of diseases caused by microorganisms. Thus, great interest has been recently found in the antibacterial finishing of fabrics for practical applications to prevent the infection incidence. In this work, we developed novel SnO2/ZnO/chitosan bionanocomposites by one-step simultaneous sonochemical/sol–gel deposition to prepare an antibacterial textile as a model for combating bacterial infections. The different prepared samples were characterized using transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicating the embedded SnO2 and ZnO nanoparticles in treated fabrics. The treated fabrics were used to evaluate antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli and Streptococcus aureus as a model for Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, respectively, using disk diffusion method in dark conditions as an in vitro model for treatment of bacterial wound infection. The procedure was more developed in terms of SnO2/ZnO molar ratio and using chitosan and citric acid to improve the antibacterial properties of the fabrics and their wash durability, respectively. The highest antibacterial activity of the fabrics was attained in a 50 min sonochemical coating process using SnO2/ZnO 1:2 molar ratio in initial sol and simultaneously deposited chitosan and citric acid. The presence of chitosan as complexing agent, citric acid as crosslink agent, and SnO2–ZnO heterojunction as important influencing parameters synergistically enhanced both the antimicrobial efficiency and maintenance of modified cotton durability after performing several washing cycles.
