Polymères ramifiésIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Currently, atomic force microscopy is the preferred technique to determine roughness on membrane surfaces. In this paper, a new method to measure surface roughness is presented using a 3D laser scanning confocal microscope for high-resolution topographic analysis and is compared to conventional SEM. For this study, the surfaces of eight samples based on a poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) host polymer with different liquid interpenetrating components were analyzed. Polymethylhydrosiloxane, triethylene glycolallylmethylether, (3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)methylcyclotrisiloxane (D3-C2H4CF3), polysiloxane-comb-propyloxymethoxytriglycol (PSx), polysiloxane-comb-propyl-3,3,3-trifluoro (PSx-C2H4CF3), poly[bis(2-(2-methoxyethoxy) ethoxy) phosphazene, or poly[bis(trifluoro)ethoxy] phosphazene was chosen as interpenetrating compound to investigate the impact of comb and double-comb-structured polymer backbones, as well as their dipolar or fluorous residues on the PVDF-HFP-miscibility. Different phases of the constituting ingredients were identified via their thermal properties determined by DSC. Additionally, the COSMO-RS method supported the experimental results, and with regard to computed σ-profiles, new modified structures for polysiloxane and polyphosphazene synthesis were suggested. Revêtements en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Latex paints can be formulated from a variety of polymer dispersions. This article compares the properties of acrylic and acrylic/styrene dispersions when used as binders in such paints. The films formed from these dispersions absorb little water. Acrylic/styrene films are more permeable to water vapour than straight acrylic ones. There is no difference in the performance of acrylic and acrylic/styrene latices in mat paints formulated for use outdoors. Note de contenu : - Acrylic copolymer dispersions

The soluble keratin was regenerated into powder and then mixed with the soluble acrylic to form an acrylic/keratin composite that was finally cast into film. The topography of the acrylic/keratin film was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The chemical composition of the obtained film was assigned using elemental analysis and infrared spectroscopy. The substantivity of the prepared acrylic/keratin film towards anionic (acid and reactive) and cationic (basic) dyes was studied. The obtained film exhibited high dyeability towards both acid and reactive dyes even at relatively low dyeing temperatures. Hydrazine hydrate was used to enhance the dyeability of the said film with acid and reactive dyes. Kinetic studies of the dyeing of the film with anionic dyes were also conducted.

- FIGURES : 1. The newly chemical-physical coating process enables the area-selective application of functional nanocoatings in milliseconds and the formation of covalent bonds between different materials - 2. The penetration of water through the boundary layer of a plastic-to-metal bond due to poor adhesion leads to corrosion of the metal and in most cases, to complete functional failure - 3. Comparison : The maximum tensile shear strengths of Plasma-SealTight bonds are well above the maximum values obtained from laser-structured test specimens or ones coated with an adhesion promoter - 4. Water penetrating the boundary layer of the plastic-to-metal bond can lead to corrosion, failure of distinction the component function or even delamination (left). However, the plasma polymer layer (right) free prevents this by Ming every available cavity, leaving the water no opportunityto penetrate the boundary layer. Thus the covalent bond acts as a corrosion-proof barrier - 5. The micrograph shows a clear distinction between the plasma-coated, corrosion-free metal surface and the uncoated corroded area - 6. The turnkey, fully automated plasma cell contains evertything the plasma process needs and can be connected to any conventional injection molding machinePermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=28322
