The tape, initially based on flax and PP, has been converted into spread tow fabrics, which have very low crimp and provide high mechanical properties. The new materials are suitable for applications which require a combination of high performance, low weight and low environmental impact, such as automotive parts and sporting goods. Titre : Highly improved UV-shielding and mechanical properties of UV-curable epoxy acrylate nanocomposites by incorporating functionalized aramid nanofibers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ying Wang, Auteur ; Yuexin Luo, Auteur ; Yuankai Pan, Auteur ; Changmei Sun, Auteur ; Ying Zhang, Auteur ; Chunnuan Ji, Auteur ; Rongjun Qu, Auteur Année de publication : 2024 Article en page(s) : p. 307-317 Note générale : Bibliogr.

Herein, methacrylate-functionalized aramid nanofibers (mANFs) were constructed by a bottom-up approach, and their influence on the performance of UV-curable epoxy acrylate (EA) coatings was investigated. The microstructure of the EA/mANF nanocomposite was studied using X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), which confirmed the homogeneous distribution of mANFs in the matrix. The effect of mANFs on the curing kinetics was investigated. The result showed that the photopolymerization rate and final C = C bond conversion would not be adversely affected until more than 0.1 wt% mANFs were added. The UV–Vis analyses showed that the EA/mANF films maintained high transmittance in the visible light region and exhibited improved UV-shielding performance. The mechanical characteristics of EA/mANF films were significantly improved by mANFs because of strong interactions such as π–π interactions, hydrogen bonds, and chemical bonds between the matrix and mANFs. For the nanocomposite containing 0.025 wt% mANFs, tensile strength and strain at break increased by 53% and 446%, respectively, compared to neat EA. Thus, the introduction of mANFs considerably improved the mechanical performance of UV-curable EA films and expanded their application in the field of UV shielding.
Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Silicone/titania hybrids for LED encapsulation were synthesized via hydrolysis and condensation reaction between tetrabutyl titanate and silica sol containing phenyl groups and long alkyl chains. Crack-free thick films (~1 mm) were fabricated by curtain painting. The hybrid films with different Ti contents were characterized by FTIR, UV–VIS, TGA/DSC, AFM, TEM, ellipsometer, etc. Results show that the hybrid films contain long alkyl chains which have high thermal stability against yellowing owing to the steric hindrance given by long alkyl chains. The hybrid films have high transmittance (≥98% in visible range) and high refractive index (1.591–1.681). In LED encapsulation, the silicone/titania hybrids with an RI of 1.605 increased the light extraction efficiency of bare blue LEDs by 19.4%. Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A polymeric coating based on a reactive urushiol-based polymeric emulsion was synthesized by grafting cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and graphene oxide (GO) onto the urushiol backbone, followed by phase inversion to obtain a cellulose nanofiber-graphene oxide/water-based urushiol emulsion (GO-CNF/WU). Following silane treatment (APTES), well-dispersed CNF-GO composites were obtained due to molecular interactions at the interface (including covalent, π-π and hydrogen bonding) between CNF and GO, resulting in a WU polymer which served as a mixing matrix to stabilize and improve the resulting GO-CNF through chemical-crosslinking. As expected, the mechanical properties (hardness and adhesion) and anticorrosion protection of the WU films were improved considerably after incorporating GO-CNF composites at fairly low concentrations. Compared to the WU film, the coated tinplate with the GO-CNF/WU coating displayed higher anticorrosion efficiency, with a PE of 99%. In addition, the pencil hardness of the GO-CNF/WU coatings increased significantly, from 2 to 6H, and adhesion was remarkably enhanced from grade 6 to 1 after the addition of 10% MGO to the films. Due to the synergistic protective effect of CNF and GO, the method may represent a facile and environmentally friendly approach to integrate multi-nanoscale blocks into WU polymer with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
