Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) spunbonded nonwoven materials were used as substrates for creating electro-optical functional nanostructures on the fiber surfaces. A magnetron sputter coating was used to deposit Al-doped ZnO (AZO) films onto the nonwovens. The influences of the deposition time on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of AZO films were investigated. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was employed to examine the topography of the fibers. The AFM observation revealed a significant difference in the morphology of the fibers before and after the AZO sputter coating. The examination by UV–visible spectrophotometer analysis showed that the nonwovens deposited with transparent nanostructure AZO films had better UV absorption, and an average transmittance was approximately 50% in the visible light wavelength region. The surface conductivity of the materials was analyzed using a four-probe meter, and it was found that electrical resistance was significantly decreased as the sputtering time increased. Plasmas (gaz ionisés)Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Non-thermal plasma combined with photocatalysis is a viable technique for the degradation of organic impurities in wastewater. In this work, a specially devised dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor system coupled with photocatalysis was applied to the degradation of CI Acid Red 4 which is commonly used as a textile dye. Dye degradation in the combined system was evaluated with three different photocatalysts: titanium oxide, zinc oxide, and graphene oxide. The photocatalysts were characterised by X-ray diffraction, particle size analysis, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller specific surface area. It was found that the combination of photocatalysis with plasma substantially improved dye degradation by comparison with plasma alone. To identify which photocatalyst exhibited the best performance, the influence of photocatalysis alone on dye degradation was separately determined using an ultraviolet lamp, which showed that graphene oxide, which has a broad band gap, degraded the dye most effectively. Polycaprolactone nanocomposites with different concentrations of nanoparticles were prepared and coated onto three types of papers: uncoated, low‐coated and gloss. The main aim was to analyse the influence of the nanoparticle concentration in primer on the optical and colorimetric properties of cyan and magenta offset printed samples. To further evaluate the applicability of the primers, the tensile strength of primed samples and their surface properties were analysed. Results show that prepared primers are primarily applicable on uncoated and low coated papers. Both nanoparticles in specific concentrations increased gloss values for printed samples on low‐coated paper, and the addition of both types of nanoparticles increased the rub resistance of printed samples. Furthermore, for each type of nanoparticle, the optimal concentration at which the colour deviation on print was minimised could be defined. Adding nanoparticles to primers did not significantly improve mottling on cyan‐printed samples. However, by increasing the concentration of nanoparticles in the primer by up to 1%, the mottling on magenta‐printed samples decreased.

Revêtements antisalissures:Peinture antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, novel epoxy-based paint was synthesized to be applied on carbon steel. The composition of the paint mainly contains epoxy mixed with an electronically conductive polymer, polyaniline (PANI), alone and combined with its nanocomposite derivation containing ZnO nanorods as an additive. The antifouling properties of the paint applied on carbon steel were investigated. The conductive nanocomposite was synthesized by an in situ chemical oxidative method of aniline in the presence of ZnO nanorods and then well characterized. The antifouling behavior was evaluated for 9 months in the Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf. Results revealed that epoxy/PANI–ZnO nanocomposite coating can prevent accumulation of marine macroorganisms on the coated panel. In addition, the epoxy coating comprising PANI–ZnO nanocomposite as well as the epoxy/ZnO coating exhibit significant antibacterial characteristics against (E. coli and S. epi). We interpret the antifouling and antibacterial behavior of the paint with (i) the presence of emeraldine salt structure in PANI which develops a surface pH in a range of 4–5 preventing the adhesion of microorganisms on the surface and (ii) the antibacterial and antifouling properties of zinc oxide nanorods that occurred by the production of hydrogen peroxide on the surface of the coating.
