Test d'immersionIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Solvent extraction of subbituminous coal at mild conditions (360°C) provides solid extracts that consist of numerous organic molecules that can be utilized in the synthesis of polymeric coatings. We describe the extraction process as well as the application of the resultant materials, which bear phenolic groups as the main reactive functionality, for the synthesis of polyurethane and epoxy coatings. The respective reactions of coal extract with isocyanates or epoxides were validated by 13C-NMR. By combining 50–67% coal extract with suitable, flexible co-reactants and co-resins, we formulated coatings with excellent wet adhesion to aluminum, flexibility, and corrosion protection with the same quality as reference coatings. The work is an advancement toward the goal of developing economic and resource-efficient routes from coal to polymers with attractive properties, where coal extracts can compete with petrochemically derived raw materials.

Sol-gel, ProcédéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE), a coating is typically used to isolate and preconcentrate organic compounds in aqueous samples. Here, a translucent coating based on polydimethylsiloxane and aminopropyltriethoxysilane was prepared by a sol–gel method. Characterization tests showed that the coating was homogeneous, relatively polar, and both thermally (≤ 400°C) and chemically stable. Coated stir bars were evaluated in SBSE experiments. Benzene derivatives and furanic compounds were successfully extracted/preconcentrated from aqueous and organic solutions. Furanic compounds and benzene derivatives were moderately extracted from water, but they were sufficiently extracted from isooctane Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Materials - Coating and stir bar preparation - Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA)FTIR-ATR - Contact angle - Solvents and pH stability - SBSE experiments - Chromatographic analysis

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This study demonstrates the coating of poly(hydroxypropyl methacrylate) (PHPMA) thin films from the corresponding monomer HPMA using pulsed-initiated chemical vapor deposition (pulsed-iCVD) method. The advantages of pulsing the power delivered to the filament wires during iCVD through successive on–off duty cycles (DC) are outlined by considering the deposition rates, structure, and morphology of as-deposited PHPMA films. FTIR and XPS analysis of the as-deposited films verifies that pulsing the filament power produces thin films of PHPMA, which is structurally very similar to that synthesized using classical continuous power iCVD. However, there is up to 70% increase in deposition rate upon pulsing the filament power in comparison with the continuous power iCVD. AFM analysis of the as-deposited films shows that the film morphology can be controlled by varying the DC during pulsed-iCVD. At a DC of 85.7%, the most hydrophilic film is observed with a measured water contact angle of 31°. Revêtements pelableIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In current and upcoming era, plastic substrate would be a great choice for its properties like versatile, light weight, easily moldable, non-corrosive material. It serves many advantages to the various industries, household section, automotives and so on. Many have negative views on plastic but the fact is plastic occupies a large section in our day-to-day life. Apart from its disadvantages, it serves many good properties. Different varieties in it like amorphous, transparent, thermoplast, thermosets are good enough to occupy large application area. To improve its performance or to extend its lifespan various coatings on plastic substrates cornes into the picture. This review explains the five different types of coatings on plastics; anti-scratch coating, anti-fog coating, anti-reflection coating, peelable coating and in the last section various coatings are noted down in miscellaneous coating section. Each of the coating serves good properties along with cost efficiency and properly adhere to the substrate. These coatings increase the sign ificant properties of plastic substrates and broaden its application area. Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This study attempted to prepare polyimide coatings (PIs) containing 6FDA (hexafluoroisopropylidene diphthalic anhydride) and/or NTDA (1,4,5,8 naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride) in various ratios. 1% of these polyimide chains were terminated with 1H,1H-perfluorooctylamine (PFOA) and PFOA, and terminated polyimide coatings (PIFs) were prepared in the same ratios as PIs. Coatings were produced on aluminum substrates by a 75-μm wire-wound applicator and thermally imidized. Finally, thermal, wear, and physical properties of PIFs and PIs were compared to each other. PIFs exhibited higher abrasion resistance than PIs due to the presence of PFOA. The increase in 6FDA content also resulted in elevated abrasion resistance. Both NTDA and 6FDA compounds improved thermal stability. The increase in NTDA content raised the Tg values of the polyimides. PIFs exhibited higher static water contact angle values than PIs, but the existence of microcracks decreased their hydrophobicity. The gloss values of PIFs were excellent. Improved values were obtained for pencil hardness, crosscut adhesion, and MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) rubbing properties for all coatings. In addition to the pencil hardness test, a pendulum hardness test was also carried out. The presence of PFOA affected pendulum hardness values positively, and the increase in the amount of 6FDA on polymer backbone improved the pendulum hardness values despite the rigidity of NTDA.
