PolyestersIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The objective of this research is to produce and analyze natural fiber-based composites (sisal/polyester, kenaf/polyester, pineapple/polyester) and their hybrid composites (sisal/kenaf/polyester, kenaf/pineapple/polyester, and sisal/kenaf/pineapple/polyester) made by compression molding. These composites were characterized mechanically using hardness (shore D), tensile, flexural, and impact (Charpy) tests. Fiber matrix bonding was analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Among all the fiber-based samples (sisal/polyester, kenaf/polyester, and pineapple/polyester), sisal/polyester shows a high hardness value of 93.24 Sd, a tensile strength of 43.00 MPa, and an impact strength around 7.42 kJ/m2, while pineapple/polyester produces a better flexural strength of 83.21 MPa. Hybrid composites showed improved mechanical performance. The mechanical characteristics of the sisal/kenaf/pineapple/polyester hybrid composite were 56.16 MPa, 1.71 GPa, and 9.34 kJ/m2. The highest flexural strength of the Sisal/kenaf/polyester multi-layered samples was observed as 83.24 MPa. It was found that the best appearance of the composite plate was that prepared by adding 15% pineapple leaf fibre. Compared with the composite plate without pineapple leaf fibre, it was found that the tensile strength, elongation at break, collapse height, collapse strength and air permeability were reduced compared with the original, while the water permeability, surface wettability and water absorption were greatly improved.

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Pineapple leaf fibres were modified with cationic modifier GX-H23 and dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (surfactant 1227) to change their surface electric properties. After modification, the pineapple leaf fibres were dyed separately with CI Reactive Red 15 under traditional and salt-free dyeing conditions. Based on dye uptake analysis, the influence of different modification and dyeing conditions on the dyeing properties of pineapple leaf fibres were evaluated. The results showed that the modified pineapple leaf fibres under salt-free dyeing conditions exhibited superior dye uptake, especially when the cationic modifier GX-H23 was used. The optimum parameters for modification with surfactant 1227 were: 15 g/l of surfactant 1227, 10 g/l of sodium hydroxide, and 90 °C for 30 min; the optimum parameters for modification with cationic modifier GX-H23 were: 15 g/l of cationic modifier GX-H23, 20 g/l of sodium hydroxide, and 60 °C for 40 min.
