Pigments à effets spéciauxIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The HolyGrail 2.0 Initiative aims to improve the sorting of plastic waste. For this purpose, digital watermarks containing information on packaging type, material, and usage will be applied on products. However, the method also has certain drawbacks. Here, luminescent pigments provide an alternative that is permanent and can withstand several processing cycles. Note de contenu : - Difficulties of HolyGrail 2.0
- Processing-resistant permanent markers
- Robust luminescent pigments
- Fluorescence or phosphorescence
- Four application areas for the batches
- Supply chain monitoring with blockchain
- Combining marker and HolyGrail
- Fig. 1 : The luminescent pigments are stimulated by light, and their emissions measured. Evaluation software is used to visualize the results
- Fig. 2 : By selecting certain marker point (marker set), an individual product marking can be defined. The set is stored, and can later be used for identification
- Fig. 3 : The masterbatches are added during the extrusion process as usual. Hereby, sensors ensure that the correct marker and the right quantity are involved
- Fig. 4 : The stored star pattern is specific for every packaging
- Fig. 5 : When using recyclates, the masterbatch quantity is adapted to the concentration of TagTec markers contained in the recyclate, thereby ensuring that this is matched precisely to the manufactured productEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EiMBgMxvzpj31I7ssVhij9VbzLltAGLK/view?usp=drive [...]

ThermochromieIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : This is a review article about smart pigments and its various applications. This paper covers structure of smart pigments and the important phenomena of smart materials on which it works. Smart group of materials refers to those which change their colour in response to a change in their environment, leading to the suffix "chromic". A variety of chromic materials exist and thus its various effects has been given like thermochromic, photochromic, piezochromic, electrochromic, solvatechromic, Carsolchromic, chronochromic, vapochromic, gas-chromic, tribo-chromic, etc. Applications of Smart pigments in interior & exterior decorative water based paints which consist of heat-activated paint for colour-changing interior designs to enhance the decoration effect of houses. It also includes smart humidity indicator pigments SHIs which are unique nano-materials with a moisture-sensitive nano-structure embedded in a polymer coating matrix resulting in color change. Pigments à effets spéciauxIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Luminescence can be defined as it is radiation emitted by molecule or atom on return to the ground state from the excited state after initial absorption of energy. Phosphorescent are type of photoluminescence which involves absorption of energy and excitation of atom to higher energy level followed by electromagnetic radiation (return to ground state). The difference between fluorescence and phosphorescence is in the emission time. As a rule of thumb, if emission stops after the excitation source has been removed, then the resulting luminance is called fluorescence; if emission continues (so called "afterglow") then it is called phosphorescence. Common pigments used in phosphorescent materials include zinc sulfide and strontium aluminate. The glow is due to the unique properties of crystalline zinc sulfide. Copper is added to the zinc sulfide as an activator. It gies dark green colour in dark. Another class of phosphorescent pigments are based on Strontium aluminate. These are light green colour phosphorescent pigment in dark. Calcium sulphide (CaS) gives dark red colour night colour night glow in dark. A new class of phosphorescent pigments based on rare earth alkali earth metals also now commercially available. These pigments at equal loading had 10 times the afterglow and 10 times the brightness of classical phosphorescent pigments. These rare earth alkaline earth metal pigments were also manufactured in a blue green (aqua) and violet afterglow colours. Phosphorescent pigments used in various applications such as plastics, paints, Inks etc. Note de contenu : - ZINC SULPHIDE BASED PHOSPHORESCENT PIGMENT
