VernisIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Being versatile, polyurethane coatings offer many technical advantages over competing coating systems. Two component PU coating is seeing widespread use in application areas like the automotive sector, wind turbines, aircraft, transportation etc. A major disadvantage of the classic, solvent-based polyurethane coatings is the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present at application viscosity. New regulations force formulators to keep the VOC content below 350 g/L and recent developments provide solutions to this problem.
Perstorp is the leading global producer of Capa caprolactones, with a wealth of experience and expertise to help customers develop unique coating formulations. Capa polyols are found in premium coating formulations for use in indoor and outdoor applications. From wind turbines to coating metal and plastic parts, one always gets a long lasting quality and technical performance.
This paper presents the use and advantages of Capa polyols in two component formulations. The addition of Capa polyol as resin modifiers into a high solid formulation, helps reduce VOC even further for improved sustainable solutions.
It also has a significantly positive impact on abrasion resistance, improved flexibility and outdoor durability in 2K PU coating systems. This makes Capa the perfect solution for heat-sensitive substrates like plastic and wood and objects too big to be cured in oven.Note de contenu : - PU CHEMISTRY : Types of PU formulations

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Marine antifouling coatings require superior mechanical properties and effective antifouling. Degradable polyurethane (PU) coatings have a reputation for high performance. Degradable PU films were prepared by mixing triblock polyols [composed of polyether (polypropylene glycol or polyethylene glycol) and e;-caprolactone] and crosslinker agent (tolylene diisocyanate trimer). The hydrolytic degradation and water absorption experiments of PU films demonstrated that the PU films could erode in artificial sea water, which were mainly controlled by the hydrophilic property of the polyether. Marine field test revealed that degradable polyurethane had excellent efficiency in preventing biofouling for more than 9 months.

Ressources renouvelablesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Two biodegradable cyclic esters, ?-caprolactone and lactide monomer, were incorporated into co-polyols. Lactide monomer is obtained from renewable resources. Increasing lactide levels reduced the crystallinity and increased the Tg of the polyols. When these polyols were incorporated into PUD dispersions, the highest lactide content showed increased film stiffness, hardness and scratch resistance. Revêtements antisalissures:Peinture antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Poly(ether ester) polyols consisting of polypropylene glycol-2000 (PPG-2000) and different ratios of ε-caprolactone and lactic acid (LA) had been prepared by polycondensation reactions. Degradable polyurethane (PU) films were prepared with poly (ether ester) polyols and hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer. Hydrolytic degradation experiments demonstrated that PU films could be degradable in artificial seawater. Importantly, the hydrolytic degradation of PU films in artificial seawater increased with the increase of LA content. The results also showed that the surfaces of PU films were renewed and kept active, as revealed by the scanning electron microscope micrographs of degradation PU coatings. Moreover, the copper ion release rates of PU coatings prepared with poly(ether ester) polyols reached steady state at about 35 days. The degradable polyurethanes based on poly(ether ester) polyols (PPG-2000, ε-caprolactone, and LA) could be effective and durable resins for marine antifouling. Résonance magnétique nucléaireIndex. décimale : 547 Chimie organique : classer la biochimie à 574.192 Résumé : The polymerisation of e-caprolactone in toluene with aluminium isopropoxide as initiator in the prsence of benzyl alcohol as a transfer agent allows to get well-controlled functionalized oligocaprolactones. These syntheses are easily carried out and constitute a versatile framework for practical works for students. Kinetics can be followed by various analytical procedures such as gas chromatography, size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and 1HNMR. Average molecular weights can be determined by SEC and NMR.
From an experimental point of view, these practical works ca be used to illustrate the living character of an anionic polymerization (dependence of the molecular weight on the conversion). The characterization of the chain ends as well as the determination of the average lengths of these functionalized oligocaprolactones are easily performed by NMR. Finally, the required chemicals are less hazardous than those usually needed for anionic polymerization experiments.En ligne : https://new.societechimiquedefrance.fr/numero/un-tp-de-chimie-organique-au-cnam- [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=7265
