SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Nowadays raw materials for cleaner formulations not only have to perform well, but also are expected to have additional benefits. For example, the water-solubility of sparingly soluble nonionic surfactants in alkaline formulations can be enhanced by adding classical hydrotropes. On the other hand, to generate an additional value — a higher cleaning performance — these hydrotropes must be replaced by hydrotropic surfactants.
Two new developments from ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARZ — ZUSOTEC SE 300 and ZUSOTEC CP 160 — are excellent hydrotropic surfactants with even more benefits (multifunctionality). ZUSOTEC SE 300 is based completely on renewable raw material and a powerful emulsifier for oils of different polarity. ZUSOTEC CP 160 is an outstanding anti-corrosion agent in acidic formulations.Note de contenu : 1. Basic information

Stabilisants (chimie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Cetearyl olivate/sorbitan olivate is a functional self-emulsifying system of the next generation which forms a liquid crystal network inside the emulsion and allows the formulation of stable emulsions. It has a pleasant silky feel, good moisturising properties and good spreadability, all due to its important origin from olive oil. The gel network stabilizes the emulsion, absorbs on the skin and reduces transepidermal water-loss without solubilizing skin proteins and lipids. Note de contenu : - The major advantages of using (cetearyl olivate/sorbitan olivate) liquide crystal system
- COSMETIC APPLICATIONS : The product is veryeasy to employ as the only emulsifier

- COMPATIBILITY WITH THICKENING AGENTS : All these thickeners increase the emulsions' viscosity in many different ways

This paper demonstrates the options to create stable, mild formulations with high SPF values and high UVA protection ratings through the minimal use of emulsifiers. For longer-lasting sun protection performance, this paper will also focus on achieving excellent water resistance through breathable film-forming technology. Ingrédients cosmétiquesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Naturality and sustainability have become a game changer in the personal care industry. Each continent adapts differently and offers various solutions to address the expectations of consumers. In Europe, and especially in Germany, a strong focus is put on the naturality of ingredients. Nowadays, several chemistries, covering a wide range of ingredients from ethoxylated compounds to synthetic polymers, are not welcome anymore in some cosmetic formulations. If some solutions already exist, they rarely allow replacing the above mentioned ingredients 1:1. Each formula can become a new challenge. Consequently, because of the high technical challenge of natural formulations achieving the same performance as synthetic-based products, the formulators don’t always have the possibility to investigate the 360° formulation profile of each ingredient and to understand its benefits and inconvenients in different types, and sometimes surprising, galenics. Here is a focus on a very versatile co-emulsifier and emollient that can be used like a Swiss-Army knife to give the boost that formulations need. Note de contenu : - W/O emulsions
