Rougeurs cutanéesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : With its novel eco-conscious active ingredient, Sederma offers a natural and ultra-customised solution to the specific beauty concerns of olive complexions. AMBERSTEMâ„¢ is a plant cell culture extract of Buddleja davidii, known as the butterfly-bush, providing a new glow to olive-toned skin.
Olive complexion is associated with skin phototypes III to V, which are distributed worldwide among multiple ethnic groups.
This skin type is recognised as hypersensitive promoting pro-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, skin dullness and a greenish complexion.
This COSMOS-compliant active reduces skin pigmentation disorders, dullness and redness thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties as well as its melanin production inhibiting attributes. AMBERSTEMâ„¢ also reinforces the skin barrier and improves hydration by stimulating the hyaluronic acid synthesis. A clinical study confirmed that AMBERSTEMâ„¢ leads to fading of dark areas and reduces skin redness within only one month of application. In addition, most of the volunteers perceived a decrease in the intensity of dark areas and recognised their skin as being more luminous and well moisturised.
This innovative active ingredient issued from the safe and eco-designed technology of plant cell culture, evens the skin tone and fades dark areas providing a lucent and healthy amber tone for olive complexions.Note de contenu : - Plant cell culture extract of Buddleja davidii to serve the specific needs of olive complexions

Visage -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Recent advances in molecular and biochemical processes relevant to the skincare field have led to the development of novel ingredients based on antioxidants that can improve skin health and youthfulness. Considering the plethora of such antioxidants and the many implications for the skin's appearance, this review focuses on describing the critical aspects of antioxidants, including cosmetic functions, intracellular mechanisms and challenges. In particular, specialized substances are suggested for the treatment of each skin condition, such as skin ageing, skin dehydration and skin hyperpigmentation, which treatments can maximize effectiveness and avoid side effects during skin care processes. In addition, this review proposes advanced strategies that either already exists in the cosmetic market or should be developed to improve and optimize cosmetic’ beneficial effects. Pigmentation, Troubles de laIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : It is well known that an adequate amount and quality of sleep is key to repairing the damage inflicted to the body during the day. However, it is difficult to really enjoy a regularly undisturbed sleep of 7-9 hours per night.
A survey conducted among adults in 13 countries revealed that on average, people sleep 6.8 hours per weeknight and 7.5 hours per weekend night. Hence, the amount of sleep lost during the working week is not compensated over the weekend. Moreover, only 49% of adults are satisfied with their sleep.
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has only worsened our sleep quality. Another recent survey among US adults displayed that 98% have developed new sleep problems, and 68% feel it is harder to sleep even after measures were lifted. An additional survey showed that 60% of adults are interested in strategies to sleep better, what is known as biohacking sleep.Note de contenu : - A new tool to 'biohack' sleep

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Unlike UV, to date her has been little clinical research int the immediate and chronic effects of blue light on skin. Therefore we aimed to specifically investigate skin hyperpigmentation in human subjects caused by blue light. Our initial study, the first of its kind, assessed hyperpigmentation induced by single, high-dose or repetitive, moderate doses of LED blue-light exposure in vivo. In a placebo-controlled trial the study substantiated the protective effects of an SPF 30 sunscreen formulation containing performance in the blue light range.Evidence from the literature further indicates an association between the exposure of skin to blue light and the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Previously, we demonstrated - through in vitro and ex vivo experiments - that a formulation containing a microalgae extract of Scenedesmus rubescens could enhance skin resilience to blue light-induced ROS formation. Here we report on the first clinical study with this microalgae product, which also confirms the protective effect against blue light irradiation in vivo. As a consequence we have developed a multi-mechanistic strategy for the prevention of hyperpigmentation caused by exposure to blue light. Pigmentation, Troubles de laIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Nowadays, uneven skin pigmentation and spots are considered a major sign of skin ageing, affecting lots of people all over the world. Hyperpigmentation is mainly due to the presence of melanin, which is synthesised by the tyrosinase enzyme. Until now, most cosmetics treatments for hyperpigmentation have this enzyme as the primary target, but Provital has developed a novel active that acts by means of a very unique mechanism: the prolonged stimulation of PPARy; which leads to the inhibition of a transcription factor that control the genes encoding tyrosinase and other enzymes. Both in vitro and in vivo studies have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of this active.
