[article]
Titre : Resistant screws : Wear protection Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Gottfried Pöckl, Auteur ; Erich Hochreiter, Auteur ; Georg Steinbichler, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 29-31 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Modern injection molders add increasing amounts of mineral additives and glass fibers to their plastics molding compounds to modify the material properties. These mixtures make severe demands on the wear resistance of the plastifying components. A new screw system significantly improves the wear protection. Thermoplastiques -- Moulage par injectionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Lightweight parts, energy-saving processing or the practice of combining several process steps into one can all be subsumed under one current buzzword: sustainability. A technology that is highly promising in this regard is thermoplastic foam injection molding. Although in use for decades, the process offers great potential thanks to continuous development work. Note de contenu : - Minimized warpage, improved shape accuracy
- Exploiting potential with high-efficiency
- Own-developed plasticizing screw
- New method for determining the solubility limit
- A widespread misconception
- Foaming with artificial intelligence
- Figure : In physical foam injection molding, a blowing gas is injected into the polymer melt during plasticizing
- Fig. 1 : The geometry of the PFS improves the homogeneity of the gas-containing melt
- Fig. 2 : Result of the theoretical preparatory work: with increasing gas content in the polymer melt, there is a reduction in the bulk modulus of the mixture. A possible solubility limit cannot be described
- Fig. 3 : Example of a bulk modulus measurement: the deflection in the curve indicates that a solubility limit has been reached and ultrasound measurements during injection for verification
- Fig. 4 : Use of the bulk modulus method for backpressure reduction when using 0.6 % nitrogen : the decrease of bulk modulus when the backpressures are too low can be seen anjd ultrasound measurements during injection for verification

Qualité -- Contrôle
ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Process Control - Although modern electric injection units can be shown to execute movements with the highest levels of repeatability, in practice consistent molded part quality often remains unachievable. Variations in the quantity of melt and melt viscosity have been found to be the most important factors influencing this. A new process control method picks up these variations during the injection phase and equalizes them within the same shot. Note de contenu : - Precise movements are not guarantee of quality
- Because melt quantity and viscosity vary
- Type of switchover : the agony of choice
- A different way to switchover with automatic compensation
- Better reproducibility even with special processing technologiesPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16083

ProductionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Some 40 percent of all active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) currently in the development pipelines of the pharmaceutical industry are sparingly soluble in water. At the same time the cost of medicines is soaring. Consequently, in order that a wide demographic may continue to have guaranteed access to medicines, two things must happen: the industry needs to develop new, economic manufacturing processes and, through new dosage forms, it must ensure APIs which are sparingly soluble in water can be released and absorbed in the human body. Injection molding affords a new way of accomplishing this. Note de contenu : - Pharmaceutical polymers as the basis
- Six-cavity proving mold for tablet production
- Simulation tracks homogeneous distribution of API
- Trials complement the simulation results
