Titre : Electrodepositive coating compositions from water soluble epoxy polymers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : M. C. Shukla, Auteur Année de publication : 1999 Article en page(s) : p. 37-48 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Matériau revêtement' 'Peinture eau' Formulation Liant 'Epoxyde résine' 'Solution aqueuse' Peinturage 'Dépôt électrophorèse' Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The acute shortage coupled with tremendous increase in cost of various solvents used by paint industry and pollution becoming serious concern has resulted in intensive study of water based coatings. The chemical modification of liquid epoxy polymer with bisphenol-A was carried out. The water soluble epoxy polymers were made from phthalic anhydride, phthalic-anhydride and trimellitic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and maleopimaric acid and maleopimaric acid alone, separately by using chemical modified epoxy polymer prepared earlier. The pigmentation of water soluble epoxy polymer based on phthalic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and trimellitic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and maleopimaric acid, -and maleopimaric acid alone was done using red oxide and zinc phosphate. The methylated melamine formaldehyde polymer was prepared and used as curing agent. Thereafter, electrodepositable pigmented coating compositions were prepared and they were studied for different mechanical and chemical film properties after electrodeposition. It may be used in surface coatings where good mechanical and chemical properties are required. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13057

Reducing waste is a high priority for the paint manufacturing industry as it offers a cost-effective approach to waste management. Hazardous waste generated in a paint manufacturing includes: (1) Sludge generated during effluent treatment. (2) Waste solvent generated from cleaning operations. (3) Scrap generation like cartons, drums, containers, etc, which are contaminated. (4) Waste paint and paint skin, off-specs paints. (5) Hazardous raw materials in the form of powders during charging, loading and unloading. This technical note focuses on the effective management of the above mentioned waste in an environmentally responsible manner through segregation of waste, waste minimisation and pollution prevention. The activities has resulted in more than 35% savings in the cost of waste management. Note de contenu : - SOURCES OF HAZARDOUS WASTE

As with other surface coatings, additives are required to achieve optimum application characteristics. Multifunctional surface control additives impart flow, leveling, slip characteristics, air release and can promote adhesion. Many of these properties stem from the additive's inherent lack of system compatibility, allowing the additive to migrate to the air interface. Often specific requirements for radiation-curing systems prohibit the use of non-reactive migratory additives. This paper discusses the development of reactive additives for reactive systems. Molecular structure vs. properties, crosslinking mechanisms, compatibility and formulation parameters are presented. Note de contenu : - USES OF RADIATION-CURABLE COATINGS

The emulsion paint as a class have increased their market share very significantly in almost every country. Water-based paints are non-inflammable, odourless and non-toxic, thus preferred to solvent based system due to increasing restrictions on air pollution. Today several countries in the world have attempted and successfully introduced, water based coatings. There has been large development in field of additives and great achievements in water based coatings. Note de contenu : - USE OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL AMINES IN LATEX DECORATIVE COATINGS
