In this manuscript, a hyperdispersant IBOMA-MPEGA-DMAM (IMD) has been synthesized using isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA), polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether acrylate (MPEGA), and N, N-dimethyl acrylamide (DMAM) as monomers via a free radical polymerization method, which is used to improve the dispersibility of an aqueous dispersion system of carbon black. The molecular structure and performance stability of IMD were investigated through comprehensive characterizations of FTIR, GPC, particle size distribution and TEM. When the molar ratio of the monomers IBOMA:MEPGA:DMAM is 5.5:8.3:9.7, the obtained hyperdispersant shows good dispersibility. When the optimal dosage of dispersant IMD was 8%, the viscosity of carbon black slurry was as low as 18.6 mPa·s and the average particle size of carbon black was 275 nm. Furthermore, the stability of the prepared carbon black slurry was better than that of the two commercial dispersants. Tannage Résumé : In order to reduce the disadvantages of chrome tannage, chrome-free tannage was developped by many technologists and tanneries. However, because of the structures and charge of the tanning materials in the chrome-free tannage, the absorption rate of the chrome-free leather for anionic dyestuffs, re-tanning agents and fatliquors is lower than that of the chrome-tanned leather. Therefore, in order to improve the absorptivity of the chrome-free leather for these products, an amphoteric polymer auxiliary agent was synthesized with methyl-acrylic acid, sodium methylallyl sulfonate and dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (DMDAAC) by free radical copolymerization using ammonium persulfate at 80°C for 3 hours. The molar ratio of methyl-acrylic acid, sodium methylallyl sulfonate and dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride was confirmed to be 1.0/0.3/ 1.0. The structure of the amphoteric polymer auxiliary agent was characterized by FTIR, H-NMR, C-NMR. The charge and properties of the solution of the amphoteric polymer auxiliary agent were characterised. Applied results of the amphoteric polymer auxiliary on the absorption of chrome-free leather for dyestuff and fatliquor, show that it has strong auxiliary absorptive capacity and the absorptive rate of dyestuff and fatliquor is more than 96%.

Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A polyphosphonate (PDPA) flame retardant that contains phenyl phosphonic dichloride and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide groups, has been synthesized. The flame retardant was introduced into epoxy resins (EP) and cured by 4,4’-diamino diphenylmethane. The vertical burning, limited-oxygen index and cone calorimeter tests reveal that the PDPA can enhance the flame-retardant properties of the EP significantly. With only a 4 wt% PDPA loading, the EP composites achieved a limited-oxygen index value of 33.4% and a V-0 rating in the vertical burning test, and the peak heat release rate and total heat release were decreased by 40.9% and 24.6%, respectively. The thermal properties and gas pyrolysis products of the EP composites were evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis and thermogravimetric analysis-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and the morphology and structure of residual char were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Flourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. To explain the combined effects of the condensed and gas phases, modes of the flame-retardant action are proposed.

The branched structure was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR). The effect of the branched structure on the properties of BUPE UV curing coatings was investigated. The results showed that the introduction of a glycerol branched structure was favorable for UV curing. The BUPE UV curing coatings based on the glycerol branched structure showed higher gel content and crosslink density, which enhanced the hardness, solvent resistance and mechanical properties of the coatings. In addition, the BUPE UV curing coatings possessed extremely low surface roughness, excellent heat resistance and light transmission properties.

Revêtements:PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Protection of oxidizable metals against corrosion has now being intensively investigated, by applying or developing different methods such as coatings and conversion films; however, all reported methods involve environmentally hazardous materials. Conducting polymers have now been used as corrosion inhibitor coatings that are either chemically or electrochemically deposited on the metal substrate. The application of nanotechnology in the corrosion protection of metals has recently gained momentum. Environmental impact can also be improved by utilizing nanostructure particulates in coatings and eliminating the requirement of toxic solvents. We report here the synthesis of nanoparticles of polyaniline (PANI) and poly-o-anisidine (POA) using emulsion polymerization method in micellar solution of SDS and their anticorrosive property has been experimentally checked. The prepared nanoparticles have been characterized by FTIR and TEM. The nanoparticles of the synthesized polymers were dispersed in alkyd paint formulation for coatings on the metal surface (mild steel). The water absorption in the prepared coatings was also studied. The corrosion rate of polymeric film was determined by weight loss measurement and the surface morphology was examined by SEM. The nano PANI/Alkyd coatings showed considerable protection against corrosion than the POA/alkyd coatings.
