However, the durability problems associated with joints of this type are well known, i.e., premature deterioration of protective coatings (metallic, organic) and accelerated metallic corrosion of the base steel by moisture retention in the joint, crevice corrosion, etc. The authors have been involved in researching lap-joint corrosion testing to know the behaviour of materials in these joints. The precoated steel sheet materials studied were divided into two groups according to their use in two well-defined industrial sectors: building (55% Al-Zn and hot-dip galvanised, painted and unpainted) and car manufacturing (electrogalvanised and galvanneal) Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5572

Pyrene (P) was introduced during polymerization as a fluorescence probe to monitor the gelation and dissolution processes in chloroform vapor and solvent, respectively. In-situ steady state fluorescence (SSF) experiments were performed to monitor vapor uptake and chain desorption processes. Direct illumination of PMMA discs were performed to excite the P molecules embedded inside the PMMA glass. Variation in P intensity, I, was monitored during the swelling of the PMMA material exposed to chloroform vapor. It was observed that PMMA film swells like a crosslinked polymeric gel at early times by obeying the Li-Tanaka equation. Swelling time constants, tc, of PMMA discs were measured and found to have a strong correlation with the molecular weight, of PMMA. In a separate experiment, when the PMMA discs were in chloroform, desorption of PMMA chains from glass discs was monitored by observing the change of pyrene fluorescence intensity. A diffusion model with a moving boundary was employed to quantify the fluorescence data observed from dissolving PMMA discs made at various molecular weights. It was observed that desorption coefficient, D, decreased by increasing Mw by obeying the D»Mw–1 law. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5573

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Phosphorus-containing flame retardant water-dispersed polyurethane coatings were produced by incorporating different amounts of a phosphorus compound onto the polyurethane main chain. The novel phosphorus containing compound (phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy) was synthesized in three steps using benzaldehyde, pentaerythritol, phenyl phosphonic dichloride, and acetic acid.
The addition of phosphorus phenyl dihydroxy to the main chain of polyurethane, in which NCO/OH ratio was kept constant at 1.5 and the amount of dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA) at 3.5 wt%, increased the hardness and abrasion resistance, but only slightly decreased the gloss values of the polyurethane paints. All the samples showed superior impact resistance and flexibility. Moreover, increasing the phosphorus content increased the char yield, and the maximum fire retardancy was reached at 1.5% P content with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) value of 29.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=5574
