Given these unique benefits, 2K STPE/ Epoxy systems can be used as a flexible primer in a multilayer waterproofing system to better accommodate structural movement, or as a high strength, flexible adhesive to withstand substrate movement. Moreover, the exceptional wet adhesion retention on concrete indicated that a 2K STPE/Epoxy formulation could provide improved adhesion performance to structures where frequent water exposure might be an issue. Kaneka's 2K STPE/ Epoxy technology might be the solution that could resolve a multitude of unmet needs in both the construction and the industrial markets. Note de contenu : - Impact of additives

When seeking the most suitable type of silicone for a specific application, knowing the differences among these materials is essential. Adhesion, cure time and physical strength are among the factors to consider.
Perhaps the most advantageous feature of silicone is that its properties can be modified and optimized as needed. Comprising the siloxane polymer backbone of a silicone are repeating helical silicon-oxygen bonds whose bond angles yield large amounts of free volume, leaving space for design (see Figure 1). The virtually complete freedom of rotation around (and potential interaction with) the Si-O-Si bonds is accounted for by the large atomic volume of the silicon atoms and the size and position of constituent groups. A silicone’s properties can be tailored to suit an application’s needs by varying these functional pendant groups (R) on the polymer chain or by adding fillers.Note de contenu : - Film adhesives

Tension superficielleIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Modern waterborne and conventional solvent-based coatings face a number of technical and commercial challenges. Additives are increasingly important for enabling the coating formulator to reach these ever-growing demands and advance the technology. Wetting, leveling, slip, recoatability or easy-to-clean properties are strongly influenced by surface-active additives. These surface additives migrate toward the coating/air or coating/substrate interface and tailor the surface or interface behavior. A unique possibility of building up multi-layer coating systems is to increase the surface energy of an underlying coating using hydrophilic additives, which positively affects the wetting of the subsequent coating layer.
