les polyoléfines thermoplastiques semi-cristallines : polyéthylène (PE), polypropylène (PP), polyméthylpentène (PMP), polybutène-1 (PB-1) ;

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Management of moisture penetration and hydrolytic degradation of polylactide (PLA) is extremely important during manufacturing, shipping, storage, and end-use of PLA products. Crystallinity in PLA was measured with Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Moisture sorption isotherms in PLA films were measured with Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) and Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS) experiments with samples of varying crystallinity. A surprising result is that crystalline and amorphous PLA films exhibit nearly identical sorption isotherms, within the accuracy of the experiments. The effect of hydrophobicity of PLA end groups on degradation was evaluated by synthesizing PLA with hydrophobic and hydrophilic end groups. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : The control of microstructure development in injection molding had attracted several important studies in the recent years, being well established that the thermo-mechanical environment imposed to the polymer melt depends on the material properties, molding geometry and processing conditions.
An entirely new design of an injection mold RCEM (Rotation, Compression and Expansion Mold) was developed and implemented, allowing for a wide variation of the filling and packing conditions in a flat disk geometry. One of the cavity walls (the ejection side) can rotate or move with a linear movement during the injection and holding stages. This enables several filling sequences and the variation of the cavity thickness. Two electric servomotors are use to directly drive those movements. Two temperatures and pressure sensors allow for the on-line process monitoring.
Several examples of the potential uses of the RCEM are shown for the cases of amorphous and semicrystalline polymers. Results obtained with short-fiber reinforced polypropylene are also presented.DOI : 10.3139/217.1847 En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ckYzL1g4_lY2MW-bVju_y0OVRWXDgCMB/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3087

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : The micro-injection molding is used to fabricate ultra-thin polymeric components used in optoelectronics and biotechnology. Due to the extremely high flow resistance and fast heat transfer, ultra-thin parts is difficult to mold. In this study, a lab-made impact type micro-injection machine and a rapid heating/cooling system are used to perform the micro-injection molding. A mold with test-sheet cavities of thickness 100 lm and 200 lm are constructed. The molding capacity and the effects of processing conditions are systematically investigated. The processing conditions include the mold temperature, air pressure of accelerating cylinder, and air pressure of packing cylinder. The thicker parts have larger operation window. The high mold temperature reduces the area of short shot but induces more shrinkage and sink mark. The increase of air pressure in accelerating and packing cylinders can effectively reduce shrinkage. Simulation, Méthode deIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Amorphous poly-para-xylylene (PPX) polymers were constructed using molecular mechanics (MM) and NVT+NPT-annealing methods. They provide the cut-off free volumes to absorb and transfer gas molecules. The corresponding sorption and diffusion properties were determined via Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC), NVT-Molecular Dynamics (MD) and cluster analysis methods. The results showed that temperature and pressure influence the sorption properties of gases obviously, but not to the diffusion coefficients of gases. Analyzing on the mean square displacement (MSD) data, this work finds that gases walk randomly through amorphous PPX polymers. The relative cluster permeability approaches to the experimental data.
