SolubilitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The academic literature on skin delivery provides countless examples of scientific insights into specific aspects of the overall process. For the practical formulator, however, it is difficult to know how to combine such insights in a way that fits into the realities of commercial formulations. In this study, five key principles are combined into an integrated approach that can be applied to real-world formulations. Given the complexities of skin science, the integrated approach cannot be expected to be highly precise. Instead, it is intended as a way for a formulation team to balance the many conflicting issues. The predictions are sufficiently specific to be examined by those with the appropriate analytical resources and data on formulation efficacy. Vitamine CIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : This thesis selected ascorbic acid as a symbol component, utilized Franz diffusion tank facility and pig ear skin to simulate the transdermal absorption environment and conditions, and employed high performance liquid chromatography to determine the ascorbic acid content and to discover the effect of four different types of cosmetics systems (facial mask (A), lyophilized essence (B1), combination of lyophilized essence and facial mask (B2) and essence (C)) on its transdermal absorption. It was found that the total amount of transdermal absorption of ascorbic acid within 4 hours was B2 > A > B1 > C, in which B2 reached 0.413 µg.mm-2, and the transdermal absorptivity was B2 > A > B1 > C, in which B2 even reached 0.98%. The results showed that the mask could promote the transdermal absorption of ascorbic acid, especially when the lyophilized essence worked together with the mask, the performance and effect of transdermal absorption were more significant, which could provide good suggestions for application in the use of product. Ils peuvent être linéaires ou bien ramifiés.Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Oat beta-glucan is a water soluble, linear polymer of glucose consisting of 1,4 (70%) and 1,3 (30%) linkages with an average molecular weight of 1 × 106 Da. Scientific reports indicate beta-glucan is a film-forming moisturizer, a biological response modifier, and a promoter of wound healing. Our objective was to study the penetration of oat (1,4:1,3) beta-glucan in human skin models and to evaluate clinically its efficacy for reducing fine-lines and wrinkles. Penetration studies performed on human abdominal skin used a single application of 0.5% beta-glucan solution at a dose of 5 mg per cm2. The results showed that beta-glucan, despite its large molecular size, deeply penetrated the skin into the epidermis and dermis. A clinical study of 27 subjects was performed to evaluate the effects of beta-glucan on facial fine-lines and wrinkles. After 8 weeks of treatment, digital image analysis of silicone replicas indicated a significant reduction of wrinkle depth and height, and overall roughness.
This work is the first ex vivo and in vivo demonstration of the physiological effects of beta-glucan in the penetration and restructuring of human tissue. The formulation must be such that caffeine reaches the adipocytes in the hypodermis. Biodegradable caffeine-loaded microspheres were evaluated for the transport of caffeine to its site of action for 24 h and upto 72 h. The mean diameter of the microspheres was 2.8 μm and their caffeine loading was 2.3 mg g-1 of particles. The permeation of caffeine from microspheres applied in aqueous suspension or from solution was evaluated through in vitro diffusion measurements with static Franz cells (n = 6) over 24 h or 72 h. The first experiments carried out on full-thickness skin without hypodermis showed that after 24 h the total amount of caffeine was twice as high from microspheres as from aqueous solution (22.6% vs. 9.99%). The results suggested that microspheres could easily penetrate through the skin and accumulate in the receptor compartment, ensuring continuous caffeine release. When the hypodermis was retained, microsphere penetration was only slightly decreased. After 72 hours of exposure the receptor fluid contained 15.3% free caffeine and 27.8% encapsulated fraction. The hypodermis hindered solution permeation, and therefore the free caffeine content was lower. Permeation of microspheres was not stopped by the presence of hypodermis.
