The as-prepared coating exhibited great fire resistance and smoke suppression. In the cone calorimetry test, adding only 6 wt% MFBZ dramatically reduced the peak heat release rate, total heat release, and total smoke release by ~ 23.4%, ~ 54.7%, and ~ 81.1%, respectively. In addition, the water resistance and thermal stability of the coatings were also characterized. The char yield of IFRC noticeably increased to 41.7%, indicating good high-temperature stability. Besides, the IFRC showed a water contact angle of 90.1° and maintained good structure and fire resistance after being soaked by water, indicating great water resistance. The enhanced performance portfolio was mainly due to the synergistic effects of ammonium polyphosphate, pentaerythritol, melamine, and zinc borate, and the hydrophobicity of melamine–formaldehyde resin (MF). This work offers an effective approach for the preparation of waterborne intumescent fire-retardant coatings with great fire resistance and water tolerance. Produits de nourriture du cuirIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Fatliquoring is an important process in leather manufacture and these fatliquors are mainly chemical modification products of animal and vegetable oils. Palm oil, owing to its main characteristics and fatty acid composition is suitable as a raw material for fatliquor preparation. And organosilicone is increasingly used for leather production due to its excellent properties. In this paper, the organosilicone modified palm oil fatliquor was synthesized by amidation with diethanolamine, grafting with hydroxyl-terminated organosilicone, esterification with maleic anhydride and sulfiting with sodium bisulfite, in turn. The influence of the mass percentage of diethanolamine, hydroxyl silicone, maleic anhydride and sodium bisulfte on the emulsion stability and fatliquoring properties were explored; the reaction temperature and time were also studied. The FT-IR spectra analyses showed that the organosilicone chain segment was incorporated into the fatliquor molecule. The route of synthesis and the best conditions of preparing organosilicone modified palm oil fatliquor were determined. The result of applied experiments showed that this new type of fatliquor had excellent emulsion and dispersion characteristics, and the resultant leather was flexible and full. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The elasticity of PTT/PET self-crimping filament yarns is currently evaluated through the elasticity of fabrics, which means a lot of work and expenditure. In order to develop a new method in industrial and commercial field, skeins made of different PTT/PET self-crimping filament yarns were heat treated and stretched in this study. Several methods were selected to calculate the elastic extension rate of skeins. Compared with the elasticity of single filament yarns and fabrics measured under mature process, a rapid elastic detection method was determined. SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Surfactants are widely used in the leather-making processes. The structure and property of surfactant obviously affect the quality and performance of leather. In this paper, a novel anionic surfactant, organosilicone modified sodium sulfonate of alkanolamide succinic acid monoester with palm oil was synthesized. Firstly palm oil was amidated with diethanolamine, then grafted with hydroxy-terminated silicone oil, esterified with maleic anhydride and sulphited with sodium bisulfite in sequence. The emulsification properties and fatliquoring performance of the prepared surfactant were tested. The influence of the mass percentage of reactants, the reaction temperature and time on the surface tension, the emulsifying activity and stability of the prepared surfactant were investigated. The FT-IR spectra analysis showed that under optimised conditions the novel surfactant was obtained. The fatliquoring application experiments showed that the novel surfactant is an excellent leather fatliquor.
