The paint works as a building envelope but still it is affected by nature's elements like wind, rain, mist and dirt and dust. Water and moisture are the major things which affects the performance of interior and exterior paint applied on the building. In general the paint performance related problems are increasing due to increasing complexity in construction practices. The performance of bath interior as well as exterior paints can be improved significantly by using proper waterproofing solution along with a recommended painting system. If water seepage coming from groundwater, rainwater and surface water can be adequately controlled, it would prevent damage of coating system and avoid requirement of unnecessary repairs to building envelopes. ln fact water is the must destructive weathering element of concrete, masonry and natural stone structures and its damage continues until the structure is destroyed completely. Waterproofing techniques preserve the structural integrity of the building. Recommendation of waterproofing system involves understanding of natural forces affecting the performance of coating system as well as various designs of waterproofing rnaterial.
This paper involves, in solving the problems arising in interior paint due to water and moisture seepage or ingress using combination of proper coating system by combining it with proper waterproofing solution.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1klhHsz78VIr7JJtKuRrHtc5PdUNUpGp-/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=25313

Revêtements:PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The main objective of this article is to describe some of the important aspects related to the solvent free epoxy based protective coatings for anticorrosive applications. The paper aims to provide a brief introduction of solvent free coatings technology with advantages, performance properties and applications thereof. International and national regulatory bodies and governments are aiming to reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These challenges have caused significant changes in the anticorrosive coating industry and given a new direction to research and development (R&D) in the coatings technology field. The type of binder ensures a number of properties like chemical resistance, flexibility, abrasion resistance in performance properties while designing solvent free coating may require considerations of good rheological properties for processing and ease of applications. Few important performance properties for longer durable coatings are adhesion to the metal, cohesive force within the coating, high mechanical strength, low permeability, good chemical resistance and corrosion resistance etc. These properties are based on type of binders, ingredients and active materials used to form the cured coating film. In this article, the performance test of solvent free anticorrosive epoxy coatings and standards for determination of the performance and durability have been discussed. Also, major applications of solvent free epoxy coatings have been explained at the end. Revêtements:PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A bio-based material is a material intentionally made from substances derived from living (or once-living) organisms whereas biopolymers are macromolecules derived from plants, trees, bacteria, algae, or other sources. They are long chains of molecules linked together through a chemical bond and are usually able to perform the functions of traditional petroleum-based products. Biopolymers exist in nature as cellulose (in cotton, wood, wheat, etc.), proteins, starches, and polyesters. The potential for using these materials to make synthetic polymers was identified in the early 1900s, but they have only recently emerged as a viable material for large-scale commercial use.
While biopolymers can be made from an almost unlimited range of bio-based materials, most of the currently marketed biopolymers are made from vegetable oils and natural polymers such as cellulose & starch. Bio-based materials have the potential to produce fewer greenhouse gases, require less energy, and produce fewer toxic pollutants over their life cycle than products made from fossil fuels. They may also be recyclable or compostable depending on the biomaterial and how they have been produced.
As the cost of petroleum resources increases, making products with biobased materials is increasingly attractive. lncreased demand for agricultural and forest-based feedstocks also offers new resource-based economic development opportunities for farmers and struggling rural communities and manufacturing sectors. Moreover, societal benefits from a shift to biobased materials couId be enormous from long term sustainability point of view.Note de contenu : - CLASSIFICATION OF BIO-BASED RAW MATERIALS USED IN PAINT AND COATINGS : Vegetable oil & fatty acid based raw materials - Bio-based natural polymers - Bio-based monomers or building blocks - Bio-based solvents and additives - Para-xylène - Isopropanol - n-Butanol

Machines agricolesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Current fertiliser production plants are very complex with individual units operating at various parameter e.g. temperatures and pressures etc. The corrosion in fertiliser industries are primarily due to corrosive nature of chemicals used as raw materials in the production of fertilizers. There has been substantial increase in the expenditure of fertilizer industries in the last decade which has caused a huge corrosion. Furthermore, many commercial chemicals are used on farm lands, grain and silage preservatives, pests and weed control, and as proprietary acid solutions for cleaning dairy equipment. In addition to these, farm wastes and slurries contain many chemicals. On the whole, these various chemicals frequently damage farm ing machinery and ancillary structures. The two basic reasons of replacing the equipment or machinery are either to upgrade the old one or two replace them due to their wear and tear (corrosion). The aim of this article is to find suitable solutions to corrosion occurring in the fertilizer industries and to the agricultural equipments.
