When Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 was published in 2009 some of the annexes were incomplete and contained a number of discrepancies compared with the annexes of Directive 76/768/EEC. Also since 2009 there have been a number of opinions from the Scientific Comittee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) that have required changes to be made to the regulation. This article aims to summarise all the amendments to the regulation up to the end of 2014 Note de contenu : - Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009

Titre : Ingredients focus : sun care Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Richard Scott, Auteur Année de publication : 2015 Article en page(s) : p. 18-19 Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Produits antisolaires Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : One of the key themes repeated within the personal care industry is "convenience". Consumers need their experience of using products to be easy, and to intrude into their daily lives only to enhance it. Products, especially within sun care, need to be effective but they must also be pleasant to use. Perhaps in the past there was an unspoken acceptance that applying sun cream would not be the most enjoyable experience, but that is increasingly no longer the case. Technology is enabling formulators to create lighter, less tacky products that are also more durable which in turn means that people's skin is better protected. Following is an overview of some of the ingredients available on the market that promote convenience not only to consumers but also formulators. Note de contenu : - Rheology

PeptidesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : X50 Pure White is a novel and potent lightening agent designed in an intelligent targeting delivery (ITD) to melanocytes. The active ingredient is encapsulated in a system that enables sustainable release and enhances the effect of the active ingredient. Whitening effect results come from the synergy of blocking aMSH mediated reactions in melanocytes and the effect of encapsulated peptide that inhibits the formation of melanin under stimulated conditions. Therefore, X50 Pure White acts on pigmented areas and prevents the formation of new spots at a concentration as low as 0.001% which proves the effectiveness of the technology as well as providing an excellent safety profile. Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : There are many reasons why eczema develops, both hereditary from environmental exposure. Biochemists have found that atopic eczema can develop as a result of deficiency, imbalance or an inability to convert essential fatty acids. These fatty acids are necessary for the body to be able to make use of other fatty acids and play a vital role in regulating inflammations and the immune system. The aim of the study was to investigate the following questions : What is the effect of Q for Skin's concept based on blackcurrant seed oil on atopic eczema ? Is there a link between the occurrence of atopic eczema and diet ? Is it possible for people diagnosed with atopic eczema to reduce the usage of topical corticosteroids ? Produits de beauté masculinsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The men's skin market in the UK is now worth an estimated £911 million per annum, and now looks set to justify the hype that has surrounded it for many years. GQ Styling and Grooming editor, Jessica Punter, commented : "This side of the industry has gone from infancy to a fully-fledged market in relatively short space of time". There is a wealth of male oriented brands in the market place now from the more bespoke smaller brands to the globally advertised mass-market brands. With British department store retailer Debenhams indicating a growth of 24% in male grooming in the last year it is no surprise that this is viewed as an area of massive potential. Include fierce brand loyalty, a need for no hassle convenience products, a willingness to try something new and, if it works, continue using it - combine it with the rise of "metrosexual" and we now have a male population where 65% are interested in taking care of their skin, 74% attach importance to how their hair looks and 40% make time to take care of their appearance. Soon it becomes apparent that there is a huge customer base ready to interact with the cosmetics industry and what it has to offer. It was recently reported that although 90% of cosmetic surgery patients are women, middle-aged and older men are catching up at a rate that's nearly three times what it was 15 years ago as older men strive to maintain their looks or, at the very least, look as good as they can. In this article we, together with distributor Cornelius, review what is out there for men in the current market and also offer our thoughts on what future trends may be on the horizon in the men's area. Soins de beauté masculinsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : While the prevailing fashion for stubbled cheeks and beards of varying lenghts has hit sales of men's razors and blades and halted growth of shaving preparations, it has opened opportunities for a relatively new sector of the male grooming market - beard care products. Despite reports about reaching "peak beard" there are enough signs that the trend for beard growth is still going strong, with 43% of UK men and 42% of women thinking it is fashionable for men to have a beard and it climbing to the highest proportion among young men ( 54% of 16-24-years-olds and 53% of 25-34-years-olds). Two in 10 UK men report they have not removed hair from their face in the lest 12 months, climbing to 27% of 45-54-years-olds and 23% of over -65s. Today, facial hair is no longer regarded as a sign of poor grooming ; it is another area to care for. In the UK, 59% of consumers think it looks unprofessional to have ungroomed facial hair in the workplace and 39% of men say that they feel under pressure to keep their facial hair neat and tidy. It is similar story in the US, where 35% of men who remove their facial hair say it is expected that they should keep their facial hair neat and tidy. This is where the latest beard products come in. They form an interesting bridge between hair care and skin care regimens, providing a multi-step programme to keep the beard hair in good health. The new beard oil, for example, draw not only on men's familiarity with pre-shave oils popularised by brands such as King of Shaves, but also on the new generation of face and hair oils that carry a complex-fragrance as well as conditioning anti-ageing properties.

Théier et constituantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Analytical data shows notable quantitative differences in properties and marker compostions of amphiphilic ingredients and Recentia CS obtained from the living tea plant. In the amphiphilic ingredients the totale amount of catechins is much higher vs Recentia CS, especially in DiPG-A and DiPG-B (15400-15700 µg/mL, respectively) - with epigallocatechin gallate, epicatechin gallate and epicatechin being the three most abundant compounds. In Recentia CS, the totale amount of catechins is lower ( ~ 9330 µm/mL) epigallocatechin, epicatechin and epigallocatechin gallate being the three compounds with highest concentrations. In general, when compared to Recentia CS, the amounts of the more hydrophobic molecules (e.g theaflavins) tend to increase in the amphiphilic ingredients, while the amounts of the more hydrophilic molecules (e.g theanine), tend to decrease. The amphiphilic ingredients are compatible with oil phase of various emulsions and with anhydrous ethanol-based spays, e.g sunscreen sprays. Recentia CS is compatible with water phases of emulsions, gel and serum formulations. The amphiphilic ingredients and Recentia CS can be used simultaneously in various delivery systems providing formulators with the opportunity to explore the bioactive synergies of natural complexes and develop finished goods with superior efficacy. the testing of the biological activities of the amphiphilic ingredients and Recentia CS in various cell culture and skin equivalent studies is current ongoing. Since the start of the Industrial Revolution, development has accelerated exponentially and the demand for energy has increased the strain on natural resources. Environmental destruction has also caused widespread pressure on natural habitats and, in turn, has led to the extinction of numerous species in the so-called Anthropocene Extinction Event. Produits d'hygiène bucco-dentaireIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The global oral care market was estimated by Mintel as US$30.5 billion in 2013 and is estimated to grow around 5% annually over the five years. Toothpaste accounts for 40% of this market globally, but takes a higher share of sales in less developed market such as China, India and Vietnam, while mouthwash represents the smallest category with 14% of sales. In contrast to matured western markets, which are showing only moderate growth of around 3%, Russia, Brazil, India and China are experiencing over twice this growth rate. With consumers worried about many oral issues, high performance and multifunctionality have become key success factors for oral care products. Particularly in the saturated markets, most manufacturers ensure that their products tackle various problems, such as preventing cavities, providing anti-bacterial properties and removing plaque. However, further functionality, has become a major focus, namely whitening, breath-freshening, or featuring fortification to help strengthen teeth and gums to take oral hygiene beyond basic teeth cleaning. One ingredient group with increasing popularity in oral care products are zinc salts and in particular zinc citrate, the zinc salt of citric acid. The effect of zinc salts on oral health has been researched for decade, while the first clinical studies on zinc citrate were published at the beginning of the 1980s. Commercial products utilising zinc citrate became available in the late 1980s. Zinc salts have manifold functionalities in oral care products ; they display antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects and clinical studies have shown their ability to reduce or inhibit the formation of dental plaque and tartar and their positive effects on gingivitis. Additionally, zinc controls bad breath through both its antimicrobial action and by the neutralisation of volatile sulphur compounds responsible for malodour.
