Abrasion is a function of concentration, hardness and particle size of the material and/or impurity. A mineral with a high concentration of a hard impurity is not necessarily more abrasive. It is also highly dependent on the particle size of the impurity. Note de contenu : - GCC and abrasivity

At the same time, however, this also increases the need for quality assurance and characterisation methods that are adapted to the actual curing process. UV-assisted rheology has great potential for this. Note de contenu : - Measurement methodology

Preparations of fatliquor-emulsions as well as fatliquoring of leathers were carried out in presence of ultrasound. Ultrasound aids in reducing the size of fatliquor emulsion and increasing fat content of leather. It was found that the particle size of fatliquor emulsion was reduced by more than 22% and fat contents of leather were increased up to 40% due to using ultrasound. Moreover, smooth penetration and uniform distribution of fat in the processed leathers were observed. Physical properties of both ultrasoundassisted fatliquored leather and conventionally fatliquored leather were also studied in detail. Tensile strength, stitch tearing strength, tongue tearing strength, grain crack load, ball bursting load, Bauman tear strength, color fastness and perspiration of ultrasound assisted fatliquored leather were better compared to that of without ultrasound. Revêtements antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Many sites with high solar radiation like MENA regions face high dust loads that reduce the efficiency generation of solar plants. In this context, this paper provides an overview of dust adhesion mechanism on the surfaces of concentrated solar power (CSP) mirrors. The assessment of dust adhesion was performed on the hydrophilic/hydrophobic glasses at two representative CSP locations in Morocco (Ouarzazate and Midelt). Two types of reflecting mirrors are examined. The first one is based on superhydrophilic TiO2 protective coating, and the second one is the reflector mirror based on hydrophobic Al2O3 protective coating. The research shows that for particle radius of 2 µm, the Van der Waals force dominates for hydrophobic coating for Midelt with high humidity. In contrast, the capillary forces are prominent on the superhydrophilic TiO2 coating for Ouarzazate with low humidity. The results show good agreement with the X-ray diffraction results. However, as compared to Midelt dust, the dust particles from Midelt are formed of Smectites for the clay fractions. Smectite is highly swelling clay in water compared with Illite, Kaolinite, and Vermiculites types of clay minerals (low swelling clay in water). This work provided a facile method for the calculus of adhesion forces on the surfaces of CSP mirrors and as result helps us to select the best types of anti-soiling coating for reflector mirrors. Titre : Assessment of the PVC waste addition effect on the concrete mechanical performance Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Mourad Boutlikht, Auteur ; Kamel Hebbache, Auteur ; Abdellah Douadi, Auteur ; Seifeddine Tabchouche, Auteur Année de publication : 2023 Article en page(s) : p. 85-94 Note générale : Bibliogr.
(Wikipedia)

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of using the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) wastes as a concrete manufacturing material without pre-treatment. The purpose is also to contribute for restricting environmental pollution and exploitation of natural resources, through the stabilization and the solidification of PVC wastes in concrete. The aim of this experimental study is to evaluate experimentally the fresh and cured properties of PVC concrete based in comparison with ordinary concrete (OC). This study consists in collecting PVC waste, especially the used PVC pipes rejected in nature, and incorporate it into concrete by substitution of sand with different volume ratios (5%, 10% and 15%). In this study, two different shapes (Fiber and Fine) of PVC were considered. According to the test results, the addition of PVC waste in concrete as a partial replacement for natural sand conducts to decrease the workability of fresh concrete. It was noticed that, the concrete with PVC fiber shows a lower workability comparatively with fine PVC concrete. It was also observed that the PVC fiber improves the concrete compressive strength. It increases with increasing the replacement ratio of PVC waste. However, the increase in the ratio of fine PVC leads to a decrease in compressive strength. The better mechanical performance factor (MPF) was obtained for concrete mixes with high PVC fiber and moderate PVC fine ratios. The collected outcomes would contribute to helpful information for recycling PVC waste in concrete mixes. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM : Materials - Concrete mixtures
