Note de contenu : - The challenge
- The solution
- 2000 hours in the salt spray
- Fig. 1 : In a first coating step, a primer is applied using the conventinal Venturi process before the finish is applied using dense phase technology
- Fig. 2 : With the new powder coating system, a coating thickness of 60 µm is achieved, depending on the product and use
- Fig. 3 : Both coating processes were designed to match each other in such a way that at the end of the process, a resilient and visually appealing surface finish is achieved in the correct layer thickness
- Fig. 4 : The manufacturer works with six main colours. When changing colours, it only takes about ten minutes for the line to be back in production. This makes coating very flexible.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=38176

Taille des particulesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Metallic flake pigments pose quite a few challenges to the powder coating formulators in contrast with the liquid paints. Besides poor static charge characteristics of the metallic pigments, flow properties of resins, kinetics of pigment orientation and uniformity in spreading over the substrate during curing are few important ones amongst many that make powder coating finishes inferior compared to those of the liquid paints. In this article effort has been made to explain the fundamental differences between the liquid paints and powder coatings involving silver metallic flake pigments. The aspects like effect of particle size, resin mixing, pigment orientation etc. that a powder coating formulator need to know while working with metallic pigments, and moreover the ways and means to modify metallic flake pigments for powder coatings to bring about improved finishes are also discussed. Système de changement de couleur
Technique de la productionIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new concept allows colour changes to be completed in the space of a minute. Installing two powder centres enables one to remain in operation while the other is changed over to the next colour. Note de contenu : - Simultaneous application and colour changes
- Only one minute of downtime
- FIGURES : 1. The key features of the colour change system are a pair of powder centres, a dual set of application pumps, and automtic hose switching mechanisms on the spray guns - 2. While on powder centre is in operation, the other can be switched to the next colour - 3. Using the new system, colour changes can be completed within 60 seconds with one booth and one set of application equipment - The automatic hose switching mechanisms allow the guns to be supplied with powder from the second powder centre while the first powder centre is being cleaned

Liquid PVDF based architectural coatings have high weathering resistance and excellent durability , Here our aim to develop the powder coating material which can meet same or similar performance compare to liquid PVDF performance. In this paper, detailed analysis of powder coating with Fluoro Ethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) coating, FEVE with polyester polyols blend and super durable powder coatings. Here Fluoro Ethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) with combination of Hydroxyterminated polyester to react with Isocyanate for better physical properties like impact resistance, flexibility and without compromising weathering resistance. The present work analyses advantages and disadvantages of FEVE in powder coatings. Different formulations of the powder coatings were herein studied to optimize their weathering resistance with different resin system to meet.
