TaninsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The annual cost of corrosion globally exceeds 1.8 trillion US dollars, which translates into 3-4 % of the GDP of industrialised nations worldwide. Over the past decade there has been significant progress in the development of smart coatings. Smart coatings require triggers to respond to the environment. Such triggers can be moisture, pH, chloride ions concentration, mechanical damage, and temperature and redox activity. In the current work we report synthesis of silica encapsulated tannic acid based smart coatings and its rust preventive performance derived out of the same. Epoxy primer grey paint and epoxy novolac based tank liner paints prepared using silica encapsulated tannic acid (MNSTA) were applied over manually cleaned surface. Its triggering mechanism was analysed by exposing them to different acidic pH and subsequently exposed to salt spray testing. The same has been compared with normal salt spray behaviour. Pull off adhesion, cathodic disbondment were performed in addition to understand its overall anti-corrosive behaviour.

Liquid PVDF based architectural coatings have high weathering resistance and excellent durability , Here our aim to develop the powder coating material which can meet same or similar performance compare to liquid PVDF performance. In this paper, detailed analysis of powder coating with Fluoro Ethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) coating, FEVE with polyester polyols blend and super durable powder coatings. Here Fluoro Ethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) with combination of Hydroxyterminated polyester to react with Isocyanate for better physical properties like impact resistance, flexibility and without compromising weathering resistance. The present work analyses advantages and disadvantages of FEVE in powder coatings. Different formulations of the powder coatings were herein studied to optimize their weathering resistance with different resin system to meet. Spectrophotomètres
SpectrophotométrieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In the previous chapter the manual standardisation methods were described in detail. Now let us see how the standardisations are carried out using a spectrophotometer. This is the most scientific and an accurate way to standardise the bases. A spectrophotometer certainly costs more, but it helps with its accuracy of matching the bases to get them ready for tinting data preparation. Those who can afford to buy it can certainly look forward to producing good bases that also help the quality control of the white bases when they have produced. Database preparation involves accurate preparation and then application of various paint drawdown obtained by mixing of standardised Base Paints and individual standardised colorant and in combination at various percentages on Black and White Paper. Now some insights about spectrophotometer and its usage. Spectrophotometry is a tool that hinges on the quantitative analysis of molecules depending on how much light is absorbed by coloured compounds. Spectrophotometry uses photometers, known as spectrophotometers that can measure a light beam's intensity as a function of its colour (wavelength). Important features of spectrophotometers are spectral bandwidth (the range of colours it can transmit through the test sample), the percentage of sample-transmission, the logarithmic range of sample-absorption, and sometimes a percentage of reflectance measurement.
