Résumé : |
Hamburg University of Technology has analysed hotmelt epoxy prepreg systems modified by an industrially-available masterbatch containing single-wall carbon nanotubes. Ultra-low loadings of 0.01 and 0.05 wt.% of nanotubes significantly improved the fracture properties of modified CFRP. |
Note de contenu : |
- The potential of nanotubes in reinforcing composites
- Improved fracture properties
- High potential for carbon nanotubes also in high-volume materials
- FIGURES : 1. Ultrasonic C-scan (defect echo) of impacted specimens for delamination area determination : neat, 0,01 wt % and 0,05 wt % - 2. Comparison of delamination areas due to 28.3 J impact damage for all modifications - 3. Comparison of compression after impact strength for neat and single wall carbon nanotube modifief CFRP - 4. Short-beam strength of polymer matrix composite materials reinforced with TUBALL single wall carbon nanotubes |
