As a consequence, investigation of these new functional surfaces has gained increasing interest in the technical and scientific literature. Yet, the most effective solutions currently availagle are quite costly and consequently only used in high value components such as touch screen displays.
To overcome this high cost barrier, Cytec introduced its latest development for energy curable coatings, namely Ebecryl 8110 resin for consumer electronics components such as casings and the like. This novel and patent pending UV resin enables paint formulators to develop coatings that meet the overall coating performance requirement (hardness, adhesion, chemical resistance) as well as a permanent easy fingerprint removal/easy-to-clean surface property.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16262

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 671.73 Revêtement, galvanoplastie Résumé : Among the most common problems in the coating process in loss of adhesion. In the case of galvanised finishes, the apparent cleanliness of the substrate surface may give the impresson that the components do not need pre-treatment before being coated. However, this is a mistaken assumption, as practical experience shows. Note de contenu : - Removing white rust by sweeping or pickling
- Adapting the pre-treatment to the type of galvanising

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Due to the risks of hydrocarbon fires or explosions and the fragility of some operating equipment and controls, the surface preparation practices employed widely throughout the coatings industry can oftentimes not be used on offshore structures. Too often this means that less productive and/or less effective surface preparation occurs, which can shorten coating system life spans or adds to the frequency of repainting. This article explores methods and materials that have been adopted by a major Australian offshore oil and gas field operator to reliably clean and prepare surfaces for coating. These preparations adhere to the surface and are removed only by the combination of mechanics and solvents. Thus, the ingredients are applied locally targeted and distributed evenly over time, which spares material as well as resources and leads to a superior stain removal. The solubility and viscosity of the system is adjustable by small changes within the formulation. Since the hydrophobic gels are chemically inert, almost all active ingredients like surfactants, bleaches, acids, bases, enzymes or solvents can be incorporated in high concentrations. In particular, incompatibilities between cleaning agents may be avoided. For instance, a low pH value can be locally stabilized in alkaline washing liquors in order to remove acid-sensitive soiling.
