Revêtements en phase aqueuse -- Additifs:Peinture en phase aqueuse -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The author discusses the use of cationic polymer dispersions as binders in stain blocking paints and primers, to achieve better stain blocking performance.
Almost everyone will have been confronted at some stage in their life with the problem of staining on walls and ceilings or, in the case of wood, discolourations due to extractives bleeding through light-coloured coats of paint. Nicotine stains in the homes of heavy smokers or in restaurants and dried water stains from burst pipes are extremely persistent and cannot be blocked simply by using conventional dispersion-type renovation paint. Woods rich in extractives, such as oak, merbau or redwood and gypsum plasterboard are just as problematical. Contact with water vapour or a water-based paint causes the extractives to dissolve and to diffuse to the surface where they form yellowish-brown spots or give the entire surface an usightly appearance. This process, which is know as 'bleeding', is difficult to deal with and will recur no matter how many coats of high-coverage dispersion paint are applied. Similar problems are experienced with soot stains after a fire, graffiti from marker pens in children's bedrooms and splashes of cooking oil, fat or other foodstuffs on kitch walls.Note de contenu : - Stain blocking paints and primers

The model of network formation was based on the statistical generation of structures from units which were in different reaction states. The differences in gel point conversion and cross-link density were interpreted in terms of precursor functionality and functionality distribution, and differences in the reactivity of functional groups. Hydroxy-functional copolymer systems containing precursors of the same number-average functionality gel at lower conversions than stars which are monodispersed mainly due to functionality distribution. The structure of copolymers characteristic of several internal cross-links contributes more to the concentration of elastically-active network chains than stars with a single cross-link. Cyclization accompanies intermolecular cross-linking; its intensity is higher for copolymer systems compared with stars. Note de contenu : - Experimental systems and methods : Precursors - Methods

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A special fine particle size binder has been developed which enhances the efficiency of titanium dioxide in emulsion paints by forming 'composites' with TiO2 particles. As the reactivity of this pre-composite polymer varies with the grade of TiO2 and the design of the adsorbing particle, careful attention is required to addition and mixing procedures.
Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new form of hybrid binder has been developed in which the silica particles are more homogeneously distributed than in previous technologies. The binder reduces dirt pick-up and can also improve colour retention on exposure. Leaching of soluble components, giving rise to efflorescence and 'snail trails', is also reduced. Note de contenu : - Colour lends character to façades - while it lasts
- Hybrid binder has more homogeneous silica distribution
- Exposure test shows greatly reduced dirt pick-up
- Pigment stability can be improved
- 'Snail trails' due to leaching are reduced
- NMR analysis confirms leaching is reducedEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mdq-00vFYskEOdPjqMUBP4DQRpImle17/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27543
