Produits de nourriture du cuirIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Fatliquoring is an important process in leather manufacture and these fatliquors are mainly chemical modification products of animal and vegetable oils. Palm oil, owing to its main characteristics and fatty acid composition is suitable as a raw material for fatliquor preparation. And organosilicone is increasingly used for leather production due to its excellent properties. In this paper, the organosilicone modified palm oil fatliquor was synthesized by amidation with diethanolamine, grafting with hydroxyl-terminated organosilicone, esterification with maleic anhydride and sulfiting with sodium bisulfite, in turn. The influence of the mass percentage of diethanolamine, hydroxyl silicone, maleic anhydride and sodium bisulfte on the emulsion stability and fatliquoring properties were explored; the reaction temperature and time were also studied. The FT-IR spectra analyses showed that the organosilicone chain segment was incorporated into the fatliquor molecule. The route of synthesis and the best conditions of preparing organosilicone modified palm oil fatliquor were determined. The result of applied experiments showed that this new type of fatliquor had excellent emulsion and dispersion characteristics, and the resultant leather was flexible and full. VulcanisationIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather wastes from the chrome tanning process cause waste disposal problems. A cost effective way of managing these leather wastes is to recover useful resources. This book gives an outline on the synthesis of fatliqour from waste bovine fat. The book further describes the effectiveness of using the produced fatliquor in lubricating light leathers to protect them against cracking. The use of waste leather shavings as fillers in rubber soles is also covered in this book. The results show that waste leather shavings can be used satisfactorily to make certain types of soles that are light weight, comfortable and flexible. The book targets readership in the leather industry, chemical technologists and people who are involved in effective waste management. This books also provides opportunities to people who are interested in starting business by exploiting wastes from leather. Note de contenu : - 1. Produits de nourriture du cuirIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : 12-hydroxystearate diethanolamine, an intermediate for a leather fatliquoring agent, was prepared by two-step synthesis of amidation reaction and ammonolysis reaction through vacuum distillation dehydration, using 12-hydroxystearic acid and diethanolamine as raw materials. Through single factor experiments, the optimised synthesis conditions were determined as follows: the molar ratio of 12-hydroxystearic acid to diethanolamine was 1:1.03, and the temperature of the first amidation reaction was 135°C and the reaction time was 4 hours. In the second step of ammonolysis reaction, the reaction temperature was 70°C, the amount of sodium ethylate (sodium ethoxide) used as catalyst was 1.5% of the mass of 12-hydroxystearic acid, and the reaction time was 2 hours. Under the optimised conditions, the yield of the product could reach 90.9%. The structures of 12-hydroxystearate diethanolamide were characterised by FTIR spectrum.
