Textiles et tissusIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The presented review will introduce the use of effect pigments as a powerful tool for the functionalization of textiles. This review starts with a short introduction on the basics of effect pigments and their properties. Subsequently, some principles of effect pigment application onto textiles and the interaction of pigment to binder systems are reported. Different possible functionalizations realized on textiles are presented. Four main types of application are discussed: optical properties, electrical properties, barrier coatings, and antimicrobial applications. Also a view of some prospective anisotropic materials is given. Altogether it is shown that the application of effect pigments can be a powerful tool to realize functional textiles for a broad range of applications in different fields. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Panels of aerospace aluminum (Al) alloys 2024 (UNS A92024) and 7075 (UNS A97075) were coated with four pretreatments (thin-film sulfuric-acid [H2SO4] anodization, chromic-acid anodization, and two commercial silica-based gels). Some of these panels were painted with chromated epoxy primer (MIL-P-23377D). All panels were subjected to several months of monitoring by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) at open-circuit potential. Several panels were also subjected to EIS measurements made at various applied potentials. Equivalent circuit simulations indicate that a model like that proposed by van Westing, et al., which includes four time-constants (coating, pore, double-layer, and pretreatments) fits the data well. The epoxy primer is shown to be a highly porous, non-barrier coating. Note de contenu : RESULT AND DISCUSSION : Equivalent circuit used - Dielectric constant and barrier properties of the primer - Dielectric properties of the underlying pretreatment - Measurements under distilled water - Polarization measurements Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=18431

The performance of filled polymers is generally determined on the basis of the interface attraction of filler and polymers. The present study deals with evaluation of electrical properties of fly ash and mica filled epoxy systems and comparing them with conventional silica used for such applications. Epoxy resin is chosen for our present study owing to its exceptional combination of properties such as easy processing, high safety and good electrical properties. Note de contenu : - TABLES : 1.
