Traitement de surface par impact -- Appareils et matérielsIndex. décimale : 671.7 Finissage et traitement des surfaces Résumé : An automotive industry supplier uses a drum shot blasting machine to blast crushed gates and risers before returning them to the casting process. This reduces raw material use and increases the availability of the smelting furnaces because less slag is produced. Note de contenu : - Recycled material is much cleaner
- Machine specially designed for foundries
- Special turbines with a long service life are highly cost-effective
- Fully automated blasting in integrated operation
- Maximum of ten minutes per batch
- Figure : The blasting process significantly increases the cleanliness of the recycled material, which improves the quality of the castings and the productivity of the foundryPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35776

Carbon fiber is increasingly preferred for its traditional composite features and benefits and—as the latest fashion trends show — its fantastic finished appearance. Composite materials can be used to make not only a catwalk, but designer accessories as well.
The use of composite materials is particularly prevalent in the aerospace and transportation market sector because composites offer high-strength performance while keeping component weight down, thereby enabling better fuel efficiency and improved performance. Adhesive bonding of these composites offers many benefits and is widely accepted.
Unlike mechanical fasteners, adhesives maintain the composite material’s structure by eliminating the need to drill holes or puncture the composite. An adhesive bond can unitize the two pieces so they will not rattle or vibrate independently, which leads to fatigue. Adhesives further contribute to weight reduction because they simply weigh less than mechanical fasteners. In addition, adhesives provide a seam-free, perfect aesthetic finish, so products can be color-matched to the substrate material.Note de contenu : - BONDING SYSTEMS : Methyl methacrylates - Surface-activated methyl methacrylates - Modified epoxies/MS polymers - Two-component urethanes

TressageIndex. décimale : 620.1 Mécanique de l'ingénieur (mécanique appliquée) et matériaux Résumé : Carbon fibre braiding is an efficient, cost-effective manufacturing process for hollow structures. During braiding, carbon fibres are deposited onto a mandrel while adapting its shape. State-of-the-art braiding technology is limited to convex mandrels but an adapted concept is being investigated for complex parts with concave cross-sections. In cooperation with Roding Automobile GmbH, the SGL Institute for Carbon Composites (LCC) of the Technical University of Munich demonstrated the braidability of a windscreen frame with concave sections.
