Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : This study reviews the need and importance of non-aqueous dyeing systems in the chemical processing industry, especially using the reverse micellar system in the dyeing of natural fibres. When it comes to conventional dyeing systems, which use large quantities of water, chemical, and energy, cause a lot of effluent load to the environment. Again the effluent water has to be treated well to eliminate all the harmful substances in it. To overcome the issues, a lot of research has been carried out in this area to minimise the use of water and chemicals in the dyeing process. Like use of low material to liquor ratio (M:L) in dyeing, dyes with high fixation at lower temperatures, low/salt less dyeing in case of reactive dyeing with cotton, cottonseed oil dyeing, microwave-assisted dyeing, and use of supercritical carbon dioxide in case of polyester dyeing and many more. All the above said methods are aqueous-based and, after the completion of dyeing, results in wastewater generation, which requires further treatment to reduce the harmful chemicals. Therefore, to further minimise the use of water and chemicals in the dyeing of natural fibres reverse micellar system has been introduced with the help of surfactants of both Ionic and nonionic in nature. As of today, a lot of work has been carried out in the dyeing of natural fibres with this system by employing ionic, nonionic, and mixed surfactants. Fascinating results were obtained in the dyeing with good levelness, high exhaustion, and fixation values, and results were compared with conventional dyeing. Computer colour matching studies were also done better to understand the applicability of these systems in the industry and found nearer results. Note de contenu : - Nonionic reverse micellar system

SolidesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The desire for natural and environmentally friendly cosmetics is becoming ever greater. Today’s modern consumers prefer products that do not require microplastics and plastic packaging but have the same convincing performance as conventional cosmetics. Solid formulations combine these requirements and are becoming more and more popular. The development of a solid foundation by CFF GmbH & Co. KG shows that there is even more room for natural and sustainable developments in the field of colour cosmetics. The developed formulation manages without microplastics and plastic packaging and is comparable to a liquid foundation. The solid foundation was tested in the subsequent assessments for the parameters pay-off, powderiness, tackiness, mattifying and coverage. The results show that microcrystalline cellulose has a positive effect on the sensory profile and texture of the formulation. Microcrystalline cellulose, which is 100 % of plant origin, and supports manufacturers in creating environmentally friendly and future-oriented products, can certainly replace microplastics.
(Wikipedia)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, a microwave-assisted polyol technique was used to synthesize vanadium-containing nanopigments of ZrSiO4. The influence of microwave power (300–900 W) and irradiation time (60–120 s) on the purity, crystallinity, and particle size of the synthesized nanoparticles was studied. The resulting powder (synthesized and calcined) was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD analysis shows that the 300 W synthesized powder is composed of solid amorphous particles. The microwave power was increased to 900 W to convert all particles to crystalline nano-ZrSiO4. The experiment revealed the critical influence of irradiation time and microwave power on purity and crystallinity. The microwave effect can accelerate the reaction and the nucleation rate of ZrSiO4 at a lower reaction temperature. The nanoparticles obtained were tested as ceramic pigments, and the colorimetric parameters of CIELab were measured. Structure and colorimetric studies have confirmed that a fully crystalline zircon phase can be obtained at 1100°C and can be used as a blue pigment.
