In the case of silicone-based materials, it is also important to minimize the proportion of volatile siloxanes thorugh optimized formulations in order to avoid undesirable side effects.

Réticulation (polymérisation)Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Solvent-based systems, mostly solutions of rubber/resin mixtures, still have a share of nearly half the PSA market, and in the field of tapes almost 70%. There are two main reasons for this dominance: the good cost/benefit ratio of rubber/resin mixtures and the investments in solvent recovery systems that have been made. Disadvantages of solvent-based PSAs are the environmental hazards, high energy processing, lower coating speeds at high coat weights and poor aging resistance.
Hot melts, mostly SIS and SBS-block copolymers, now hold a 15% market share in Western Europe. Their main disadvantages are the lack of aging resistance (due to double bonds) and low heat resistance.
Aqueous dispersions make up about 38% of the market volume today. Growth has mostly concentrated on paper labels. Problems arise from moisture sensitivity, high processing energy, low coating speeds at high coat weights and insufficient adhesive performance for tapes.
Because of the disadvantages of known products and technologies, there is a market for PSAs that meet the following requirement profile: resistance to aging, environmental safety, low-cost processing and good adhesive performance at the higher coat weights needed for adhesive tapes. This list of needs led to the concept of UV crosslinkable acrylic hot melt polymers.

Résistance thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Hot-melt polyamides perform extremely well in applications where elevated temperature resistance is required. However the real success of providing heat resistance alone, but in being able to provide the other necessary properties such as hot tack, adhesion, strength, flexibility and impact resistance at low temperatures, in addition to the required heat resistance.
For extremely demanding applications, curable polyamides can provide all of the application properties that are characteristic of the standard hot-melt polyamides, while providing heat resistance, chemical resistance, strength and flexibility beyond the range where any of the non-curing hot melts perform.Note de contenu : - Automotive interior applications

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The use of water-borne protective coatings is increasing due to legislation on the emission of solvents (volatile organic compound) from paints. The aim is to reduce the content of the volatile organic compound (VOC) of the paint and subsequent emission into the atmosphere. Water-borne paints are one class of coatings that normally have VOC levels below any regulatory limits and can be used to reduce overall emissions compared to solvent-borne paints.
Due to environmental considerations, water-based systems are becoming more essential in the production of heat-resistant coatings. Compared to traditional solvent-based resins, water based silicone resins significantly reduce VOC emissions in coating formulations. The aim of water borne heat resistant paint is to reduce extensive usage of solvent in heat resistant paint for the concern of eco-system.
This review paper will talk about the water borne Heat resistant paint and their advantages over solvent based heat resistant paints.Note de contenu : - What are waterborne coatings ?
