An evaluation of the properties of denim dyed with sulphur dyeing by elimination of pre-treatment processes in COLORATION TECHNOLOGY, Vol. 138, N° 5 (10/2022)
[article]
Titre : An evaluation of the properties of denim dyed with sulphur dyeing by elimination of pre-treatment processes Type de document : texte imprimé Année de publication : 2022 Article en page(s) : p. 485-494 Note générale : Bibliogr.

From the environmental point of view, mainly the textile dyeing process constitutes a significant pollution problem due to the variety and complexity of chemicals employed. Denim has been identified with indigo dyestuff throughout history. However, the percentage of warp yarn woven with sulphur-dyed denim (included in the denim group of products) has increased in recent years. The justification of this study is to create a new concept in denim fabric dyeing. Conventional denim fabric properties have been tried to be obtained with less process. A novel method with a less environmentally detrimental technique that limits the use of water, chemicals, and other resources has been developed to achieve traditional denim fabric qualities. The colour changes, tensile-tear strength, skew movement, dimensional stability, and the rubbing fastness values of fabrics dyed using these methods were examined comparatively. According to the results, the properties of fabric treated with the developed dyeing method, are very similar to those of the standard dyed fabrics. The tensile and tear strength values of the fabrics dyed using the reduced process method increased. The dimensional change and movement values of the fabric dyed with the new technique are higher. Fabric dyed with the conventional method has the highest K/S value but the lowest L* value. The greatest ΔE value was seen in fabrics with stone+hypo washing. The rubbing fastness value of the fabric dyed with the reduced process method was better. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS

Ceci implique l'utilisation :
- d'une part, d'un appareillage permettant de réaliser un tel cycle ;

Note de contenu : - L'introduction de fibres élastomères

Stabilité dimensionnelleIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : It is very difficult to find a better paper on dimensional stability in leather than the Schröpfer and Meyer (2011) paper that was presented at the XXX1 IULTCS 2011 conference in Valencia, Spain. Prior to that paper, another valuable piece of the puzzle for dimensional stabililty had been given by the seminal paper on collagen which produced the 'Polymer-in-a-box' hypothesis, by Miles and Ghelashvili (1999). Bosch et al. (2002) completes the trio of perfect papers that tell the full story about when leather shrinks and how it will performan in temperature and humidity.
The motivation for this article is frustration at how one still hears that chromium tanned leathers have higher stability in leather articles. People who say this are of course correct, but they only tell a part of the story, and when they incorrectly say that chromium leathers have higher dimensional stability in cars, they go too far. Chromium-free leathers have higher dimensional stability in car upholstery - end of story. Schröpfer and Meyer (2011) show the superiority of chromium-free in car dimensional stability unequivocally.Note de contenu : - Polymer-in-a-box
