Ingrédients cosmétiquesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Recent changes in the economic and environmental landscapes have reshaped the ways consumers choose products. An increasing number of people want to make a positive impact with their purchases, leading to an increased demand for sustainable products. The entire supply chain needs evaluation in order to make a real impact on the sustainability profile of a product,
from the ingredients to what happens to the product after usage. Within the ingredients used in personal care, botanical extracts are a category that is often overlooked due to the use of renewable resources. However, sourcing directly from nature needs to be carefully managed to prevent any adverse environmental or social impacts. Two examples of sustainably sourced
botanicals from Crodarom are discussed in detail.Note de contenu : - SOURCING BOTANICALS : RESPECTING BIODIVERSITY AND FARMERS LIVELIHOODS : Raw materials assessment - Solvents- Process - Final products

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : We developed an anti-ageing active ingredient made from an Edelweiss ( Aomori Hiba ) extract. This flower is cultivated between 1000 metres and 1500 metres altitude in the Swiss Alps, ensuring a maximum content of active compounds such as leontopodic acid and flavonoids (luteolin and apigenin derivatives).
Alpaflor® Edelweiss CB, hereafter named Leontopodium alpinum 'Helvetia' extract, is DSM's natural, organic preservative-free bioactive. It is cultivated between 1000 metres and 1500 metres altitude in the Swiss Alps, ensuring a maximum content of active compounds such as leontopodic acid and flavonoids (luteolin and apigenin derivatives).
In these altitudes, the Edelweiss flower must contend with extremes of temperature, wind, and exposure to harsh environmental conditions, making it an expert in self-protection. It has demonstrated excellent resilience to UV exposure and staves off dehydration despite strong winds.
These properties make it an good choice for natural skin care products. This bioactive supports the skin’s crucial protective barrier, enhancing its resistance to external stress factors and providing a very pleasant skin sensation.Note de contenu : - Glycation and how it affects the skin

Plantes -- Emploi en cosmétologieIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Should personal care products be sustainable or have a long shelf-life ? Preferably both. Natural cosmetics are gaining in popularity due to the increased awareness of sustainability and naturalness. In contrast, there are potential quality limitations that discourage some consumers from buying certified natural cosmetic products. The use of natural oils and plant antioxidants could be the solution for both aspects. This could be beneficial for raw material and product manufacturing companies as well as for consumers. Ingrédients cosmétiquesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The global personal care ingredients industry is changing robustly and creating a new playing field. Cosmetic preferences have transcended to green products, given that products with “green labels” have continued to prioritise natural ingredients.
The use of biotechnology will enable the cosmetic industry to streamline sustainable ingredients and reshape the concept of natural cosmetics. Indeed, consumers are on a quest for certified ingredients and sustainable packaging options. With Europe striving to become carbon neutral by 2050, trends and dynamics will witness a seismic shift in the landscape.
Customers have exhibited profound traction for a healthy skin surface showing a soft, smooth and firm appearance. Surfactants have become the go-to ingredient for the formulation of skin care cosmetics and boost supplier relationship management (SRM). Some of the features such as emulsifying, cleansing, moisturising and solubilising have put a premium on surfactants.
From traditional cleansing to the trendiest offerings, formulators are developing optimal products using a slew of surfactants for body care and body cleansing. Technological advancements will help customers stay a notch ahead in innovation.Note de contenu : - Navigating through "green surfactants"
