Ressources agricolesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The benefits of the Mediterranean diet are well known. Fruit and vegetables, in particular, contribute to these benefits thank to their rich composition in phytonutrients, with anti-oxidant and nourishing properties.
Because skin is a part of our body, it makes sense that the general benefits of a healthy diet would translate into maintaining a healthy and good looking skin.
In order to formulate topical products delivering the same benefits of a healthy diet, we selected fruits derived from Italian agriculture known to be extremely rich in molecules with anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and repairing properties. Some of the molecules we obtained originated from food by-products, in order to maximize a sustainable approach and bringing added value to raw materials that otherwise would be wasted or used into less valuable end products.
One of the challenge when sourcing natural ingredients for cosmetic applications is the capacity to transform them in actives with proven efficacy. This effort implies a knowledge in how to concentrate and stabilize the ingredient as well as testing it to prove that it can indeed deliver the expected performance when targeting a specific cosmetic concern.
We have created a full line of active ingredients sourced from Italian agricultural products. We called this approach Tasty Cosmetology and the resulting line of products ITALINE. We were able to identify the best plant source based on its known scientific properties and active ingredients composition and by further processing it we were able to create a unique proposal of actives with high level of efficacy, stability and safety.
All our ITALINE actives were characterized by analytical chemistry for their molecular composition and fully tudied for their biological activity in the skin by in vitro, ex vivo and clinical testing. Furthermore their safety was proven clinically and their stability was followed over time in different experimental conditions.Note de contenu : - BLUEBERRY SKIN CONCENTRATE : INCI : Vaccinium Corinbosum (Blueberry) fruit extract ; trade name : Italine B

PolyphénolsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Plants from the Artic have traditionally been used for promotion of health and beauty. Their activity is based on the secondary metabolites that the plants produce for protection against environmental stressors, such as UV radiation, cold, insects, and pathogens. In the North, the harsh conditions, especially the low temperature, promote the synthesis of flavonoids and other bioactive antioxidants. This makes Arctic plants especially appealing as raw materials for active cosmetics ingredients. Vieillissement cutané -- PréventionIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The term Photoaging describes the ageing process of our skin that is caused by ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) solar radiation. UV - and IR - induced damage to our skin includes, but is not limited to, DNA alterations, an increased level of cellular oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in our skin. All of these processes lead to premature ageing and poor biomechanical characteristics.
Our laboratory has developed the active ingredient Lingostem, which is based on a polyphenolrich lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) cell line. The anti-oxidative capacity was 11 times higher than that of the natural berries. Lingostem counteracts the negative effects of IR and UV radiation by potentiating the antioxidant response, decreasing the inflammatory reaction and reducing MMP-1 production.
Two independent in vivo studies showed the protective and restorative capacity of Lingostem. Especially impressive were the improvement of the sub-epidermal echogenic band and a significant wrinkle reduction relative to placebo.Note de contenu : - PLANT CELL TECHNOLOGY

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The extract of Lolium perenne L (ryegrass) flower is a new anti-ageing active ingredient containing vitamins, oligo-elements and amino-acids, a complex of active principles essential for the energy processes taking place in living cells. As the natural building blocks of a cell's life, the components of this extract support the energy machinery of skin cells and protect the skin structure against the aggression of environmental pollution, oxidative agents and chronic inflammatory factors.
The results of in vitro and in vivo tests demonstrate many skin benefits (Implementation of protective components) leading to a reduction of visible marks linked to progressive skin ageing. The solvent-free, non-allergenic extract of ryegrass flower is carefully obtained from standardised raw materials. Moreover, it is non-preserved, completely water-soluble, has a light flower scent and exhibits good compatibility with most cosmetic ingredients.Note de contenu : - COUNTERACTING AGEING BY COSMETIC MEANS
