Les exemples de fils texturés par fausse torsion sont : Superloft®, Flufflon® et Hélanca®.Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : False twist draw-textured yarns were prepared using single heater and double heater of the texturing machine. Fabrics were prepared using these yarns as weft and fabrics were tested for handle, crease recovery, abrasion and air permeability. The results revealed that double heater draw-textures yarn-fabrics manufactured using primary as well as secondary heater can produce fabrics with better drapability, crease recovery and air permeability as compared to stretched yarn fabrics. However, good chemical resistance and physical drying can be a challenge. Two new approaches have turned this around, and offer good chemical resistance, hardness, and physical drying for clear and pigmented coatings. Architectural coatings make up approximately 50% of a 23 billion-litre global paint market. In Europe, the end-users of architectural coatings are split evenly between professional painters and do-it-yourself (DIY) clientele with applications focused primarily on interior walls and ceilings, and exterior façades. Various European market drivers, such as environmentalism, regulatory limits and globalisation have accelerated a move in architectural coatings from solvent-based systems to water-based systems :
- Environmentalism : an environmentally friendly push to lower VOC levels in architectural coatings, reflected by consumer preference for 'greener' architectural coatings. In most instances water-based coatings have lower VOC levels than those that are solvent-based.
- Regulatory limits : European Union Directive 2004/42/EC for Decorative and Vehicle Refinishing Paints calls for a reduction in VOC levels in both solvent-based and water-based systems by 2007.
The same regulatory calls for a more drastic reduction in VOC levels by 2010, making water-based systems the intuitive choice for architectural coatings.
- Globalisation : various coatings manufacturers and even retail chains now institute global environmental policies, which have led to a rationalisation of product lines, the introduction of consumer labeling schemes, a move toward water-based systems, and an overall reduction in the VOC levels of these water-based paints.Note de contenu : - Water-based coatings systems

Revêtements pelableIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In current and upcoming era, plastic substrate would be a great choice for its properties like versatile, light weight, easily moldable, non-corrosive material. It serves many advantages to the various industries, household section, automotives and so on. Many have negative views on plastic but the fact is plastic occupies a large section in our day-to-day life. Apart from its disadvantages, it serves many good properties. Different varieties in it like amorphous, transparent, thermoplast, thermosets are good enough to occupy large application area. To improve its performance or to extend its lifespan various coatings on plastic substrates cornes into the picture. This review explains the five different types of coatings on plastics; anti-scratch coating, anti-fog coating, anti-reflection coating, peelable coating and in the last section various coatings are noted down in miscellaneous coating section. Each of the coating serves good properties along with cost efficiency and properly adhere to the substrate. These coatings increase the sign ificant properties of plastic substrates and broaden its application area.
