Stratifiés -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 620.19 Autres matériaux Résumé : The traditional use of composites for laminates and components is based on unidirectional tape stacking. Generating an allowable design has become a huge undertaking ; several knockdown factors such as barely visible impact damage (BVID), moisture absorption and de-lamination are also involved. In spite of all these negative aspects, composites have begun to be widely used (more than 50% of Boeing 787 and Airbus 350 structures) due to notable design and manufacturing improvements in recent years. The introduction of bi-angle non-crimp fabric composites, pioneered by Stephen W. Tsai (Stanford University) and Michel Cognet (Chomarat), may represent a breakthrough, and a radical change in the way composite structures can be designed and manufactured. Different case studies are presented in this paper with the aim of showing how scaling can help simplify and enhance the way composite structures can be designed and how C-Ply NCF can replace existing composite structures.

The idea is to utilize the systems for repairing work in electrical industries even in Monsoons/winter conditions where many systems have tendency to show adhesion failures in low temperature/humid conditions. For civil we intend to evaluate the performance in foundation grouting applications.
SynergieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Current research on flame-retardant coatings explores alternatives to halogen-based products. Reactive compounds based on phosphorous and silicon were synthesized and cooperated in epoxy acrylate oligomers to form UV-curable flame-retardant wood coatings. FTIR, 1H NMR, hydroxyl and iodine values confirmed successful synthesis of these products. The effect of the varying proportion of the synthesized compounds on the mechanical, chemical and thermal properties of photopolymerized coatings was investigated. Further, the efficacy of flame retardants was estimated by limiting oxygen index and UL-94 vertical burning test. The synergistic behavior between silicon and phosphorous resulted in an optimum formulation giving an LOI of 24 and VTM-0. Revêtements antisalissures:Peinture antisalissuresIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A UV-curable solvent-free antifouling coating formulated by a novel epoxy methacrylate-containing phthalazinone moiety with reactive diluents and photoinitiator and non-toxic N-vanillylnonanamide as antifoulant was prepared. First, the basic performance of the cured films obtained was evaluated using Chinese National Standards. This environmentally friendly antifouling coating has excellent physical properties, with a pencil hardness of above 5H, an adhesion of grade 1, impact strength above 45 cm, and good resistance to alkali and salt but not acid. Then antifouling evaluation was carried out by the leaching rate of antifoulant, and by immersing samples in natural sea water, respectively. The results from the leaching rate of N-vanillylnonanamide from the antifouling coating shows that the release rate of 45 μg/m2 day of the coating with 15% antifoulant is steady after a slight decrease, and this coating can effectively prevent marine organisms attaching for 6 months, which is also evidenced by field tests in natural sea water.
