ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Aside from high part costs, investment and development costs often constitute an additional obstacle to the implementation of lightweight solutions in fiber-reinforced plastic composites. In particular, parts that are produced by reactive processing require an integrated approach to product and process development. Systematic process simulation affords a way of considerably boosting efficiency during development. Note de contenu : - Material selection : various factors are decisive

ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Trend report (Part 1) - Fiber composite materials, in particular systems based on carbon fibers, offer a huge lightweight construction potential. Production processes have already been established for these in many industrial applications. Series production applications such as in the automotive industry, however, require new and extend approaches. Hybrid material systems with corresponding process combinations are being developed to meet these challenges. Note de contenu : - Demands and applications

ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This paper focuses on current trends in the flame retardancy of epoxy-based thermosets. This review examines the incorporation of additives in these polymers, including synergism effects. Reactive flame-retardants—which are incorporated in the polymer backbone—are reported and the use of fire-retardant epoxy coatings for materials protection is also considered. And also explains fire retardant mechanism of nanofiller to develop more efficient fire-retardant nano composites. Actually nanofillers are carbon nanotubes and clay which are attractive materials because addition of small amount of nanofillers can improve mechanical, thermal, electrical properties of plastics without changing the processability. However nanofillers themselves do not show excellent fire retardancy, Nanofilers should combine with other fire retardants. Some combination shows positive synergy and some case shows negative synergy effect. Then effective combination of nanofillers and conventional fire retardants are discussed in this article.
