Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Brominated polymeric flame retardants (FRs) in water-based paint systems form stable formulations with acceptable physical and chemical properties. Small and large-scale tests were carried out using intumescent and non-intumescent FRs. These formulations are transparent/translucent on wood and provide good FR efficacy according to FR standards required by regulatory bodies worldwide. Hydroxyde d'aluminium

PolymérisationIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Non-halogen flame retarded polyethylene (PE) can be prepared by filling metallic hydroxides magnesium hydroxide (MH) or aluminium hydroxide (ATH), the mechanical properties of polymer composites will decline greatly when filling much more inorganic particles. Selecting microencapsulating particles, suitable synergistic agents or compatibilizers are good methods for improving the combination performance of composites. In this study, microencapsulated red phosphorous (MRP) was synthesized by using melamine-formaldehyde resin through in-situ polymerization, and used as a synergistic agent of MH and ATH, and the best proportion of three flame retardants was studied in detail. Results showed that flame retarded PE had a better combination performance when filling with 45 wt% compound flame retardants of MRP, MH and ATH under the weight ratio of 46/46/8. In order to improve the mechanical performance of composite, two polymeric compatibilizers POE-g-MAH and EPDM-g-MAH were selected to toughen the flame retarded PE composite. Results showed the flame resistance and mechanical properties of composites improved greatly with an increase of compatibilizer content, under the same condition, POE-g-MAH has a better contribution on the flame resistance and EPDM-g-MAH has a better toughening effect. The best flame retarded PE composite can be obtained by filling with 45 wt% compound flame retardants and 10 wt% EPDM-g-MAH. Note de contenu : - Characterization of MRP

Vêtements de protectionIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Leather is an excellent natural product widely used not only in the footwear industry, but also in the manufacture of more luxury products for upholstered furniture and automotive industry.
In the case of the two last applications, fire behaviour is of extreme importance. Leather, when compared to man-made products and textiles used in car and upholstery applications, is safer and also a healthier choice.
In this study leather flammability was compared with that of flame retardant modified leather and artificial leather (based on polyurethane) according to the requirements of upholstered furniture and automotive industries.En ligne : http://www.aaqtic.org.ar/congresos/istanbul2006/Oral%20Presentations/Improved%20 [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=29904 Flammability and thermal characterization of aluminum hydroxide filled with LDPE / Maziyar Sabet in INTERNATIONAL POLYMER PROCESSING, Vol. XXVIII, N° 4 (08/2013)

ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Aluminum hydroxide (ATH), a non-toxic and environmentally friendly flame retardant, was characterized using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The effect of ATH content on flammability properties of LDPE was also determined using limiting oxygen index (LOI) and smoke density test. The thermal characterization studies showed that the effective temperature range for ATH as a flame retardant is 200 to 350°C. In water release test, it was determined that the release of the water by ATH degradation in ATH increased with increasing temperature. The LOI test showed that the flame retardancy of LDPE increased with increasing ATH content and decreasing ATH particle size. The smoke density test proved that addition of ATH reduced effectively the smoke density of a burning LDPE. It was studied in this paper the effect of ATH particle size on thermal, flammability and viscosity of ATH filled with LDPE. Note de contenu : - Material
