Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Heat setting is an essential step in synthetic liber processing to achieve dimensional stability. In the present work an attempt has been made to evaluate the effect of heat setting conditions such as temperature and tension on tensile properties of polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT). Stress during heat setting was found to be an important factor. The findings are useful for setting process conditions of PTT as per end-user applications. TempératureIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The post-spinning operation has a predominant effect on the tenacity and elongation of drawn filaments. Rate of drawing at a constant temperature has an opposite effect. As the rate of drawing is low, the polymer has enough time to relax from the drawing stresses and shows low deformation behavior. As the rate of drawing is increased, the material is able to draw through the formation of a neck. At very high rates, the material may not be able to relax at ail and the build-up of elastic stresses leads to a brittle failure. The settings were done as per the standard and then optimized to check the performance of polyester filament for tenacity and elongation by changing the draw force. It had been noted that tenacity increases with an increase in D/F with reduced elongation from 2.1 to 2.93 gpd with gradually decreased elongation. Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The effect of fiber cross-sectional shape on the structure and properties of polyester (PET) yarns have been investigated by the selection of partially oriented polyester yarn (PET POY), which was produced under the same spinning conditions through different spinnerets in a melt spinning plant. The only difference between the fibers are the cross-sectional shapes of spinneret. The different cross-sectional shapes were selected for the experimental work viz. circular, hollow, trilobal, octalobal and delta. The specialty spinnerets which produced yarn will be considered for different applications in carpets and home textiles, whereas circular cross-section yarn will be considered for denim fabric manufacturing. The major difference within the cross-sectional shapes are influenced due to their modulus, higher strain, yield stress, and boiling water shrinkage. No effects on the crystallinity and higher stress were deter¬mined. It was found that 350/96 PET POY shows improved results with circular cross-section at all stages. Index. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : The structure of air-jet textured filament yarns is different from other yarns due to the loops on yarn surface. The characteristics of air-jet textured yarns are also dependent on these surface loops. These surface loops on yarn are affected by winding process tension. In order to understand the influence of the winding tension on air-jet textured yarn characteristics, air-jet textured yarn packages were prepared with different winding tension on winding machine. The loop frequency, loop stability, bulkiness, dimensional stability and tensile strength of yarn were evaluated, and it was found that as the winding tension increases, loop frequency, bulkiness, elongation of yarn decrease, and strength and dimensional stability of air textured yarn improve. Therefore, winding yarn tension for air textured yarns needs to be set at a suitable level to achieve the desired air textured yarn characteristics. Triméthacrylate de triméthylolpropaneFormule moléculaire brute : C18H26O6 - Numéro CAS : 3290-92-4Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TMPTMA) was introduced into ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers by supercritical CO2 pretreatment before the fibers were irradiated under electron beam. The influences of irradiation dose on the properties of treated UHMWPE fibers were measured. The results show that as the irradiation dose increased, the gel content first rose and then declined; the breaking strength decreased continuously ; the elongation at break increased at first and then decreased ; and the creep rate originally fell and then rose, finally declining stowly. The melting point and crystallinity decreased slightly. Note de contenu : - Materials and chemicals
