Depth Profiling of acrylic /melamine formaldehyde coatings / G. Haacke in JOURNAL OF COATINGS TECHNOLOGY (JCT), Vol. 67, N° 843 (04/1995)
[article]

Specific segments contributing to that growth are related to health and wellness, such as monitoring devices and fitness trackers. Many of the growing segments represent longer wear. While the definition of “long wear” can and does vary depending on the application, a typical working definition is longer than 1 week; many medical products companies are targeting up to 3 weeks for new applications. Vernis en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Effective corrosion protection generally requires two or more coats of paint, each with different properties. The development of a waterborne binder system which protects metal with only a single coat is described. The optimised binder system incorporated electronegative functional monomers to improve adhesion and was self-crosslinking. Both clear varnishes and white paint without anticorrosive pigment gave good results over a variety of metallic substrates. Note de contenu : - The quest for waterborne performance

Revêtements en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : High humidity and precipitation challenges the ability of exterior architectural coatings to properly cure and provide the necessary protection of exterior surfaces. To increase early rain resistance and decrease water sensitivity, different formulation techniques were investigated. Raw materials were evaluated in a standard starting point formula to generate an optimal formulation that reduces water sensitivity and surfactant leaching, while simultaneously increasing early rain resistance. Results for early rain resistance were determined by developing new testing methodology that varied environmental factors during the film curing process. We determined that using functional additives as well as increasing the hydrophobicity of the coating film can substantially increase early rain resistance. Directo-to-metal coatings (DTM) are single layer coatings that are applied on metal substrates and required to provide good protection against corrosion, as well as an aesthetic function, involving not only colour but often also high gloss. These coatings are widely used in the light industrial and Do It Yoursel (DIY)/decorative market segments, where emphasis on the environment has increased in recent years. Aware of the need to fulfil these three requirements (anticorrosive protection, aesthetic function and 'green' profile), Nubiola offers its zinc-free Nubirox 300 series for the development of water-based DTM coatings.Note de contenu : - The requirements for DTM coatings
