Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Aesthetics of the building is a major reason behind the painting of interior and exterior surface of the building ; Painting provides beauty to the building and covers little defects present on the substrate (masonry, wood or metal). The paint works as a building envelope but still it is affected by nature's elements like wind, rain, mist and dirt and dust. Water and moisture are the major things which affects the performance of interior and exterior paint applied on the building. In general the paint performance related problems are increasing due to increasing complexity in construction practices. The performance of bath interior as well as exterior paints can be improved significantly by using proper waterproofing solution along with a recommended painting system. If water seepage coming from groundwater, rainwater and surface water can be adequately controlled, it would prevent damage of coating system and avoid requirement of unnecessary repairs to building envelopes. ln fact water is the must destructive weathering element of concrete, masonry and natural stone structures and its damage continues until the structure is destroyed completely. Waterproofing techniques preserve the structural integrity of the building. Recommendation of waterproofing system involves understanding of natural forces affecting the performance of coating system as well as various designs of waterproofing rnaterial.
This paper involves, in solving the problems arising in interior paint due to water and moisture seepage or ingress using combination of proper coating system by combining it with proper waterproofing solution.

- le modèle poupée russe: les plans de graphène sont arrangés en cylindres concentriques ;

Toxicologie cellulaireIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Since corrosion has tremendous economic effects, academics and industries have sought to develop more effective coatings. These efforts have led to profound importance of nanocomposite coatings based on polymers and carbon nanostructures. It is shown that good reinforcement, advanced mechanical properties, and high corrosion resistance are only found at relatively low levels of nanocarbon (i.e., fullerene, carbon black, carbon nanotubes, graphene, graphene oxide, and carbon dots) loadings in coating compositions. Herein, a survey of breakthrough scientific studies on application of carbon nanostructures in corrosion-resistant organic coatings is carried out to pave the way for future developments in novel nanocoatings.

Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The main objective of this review is to discuss the recent research on polymer-based surface coatings contributing to the protection against marine biofouling based on the knowledge available in literature, supplemented by means of figures, mechanism illustrations, mathematical models, and equations. A need for studies on the mathematical behavior of such coatings is emphasized, composed of quantitative evaluation of foul-release performance of coatings using mathematical equations of the concerned parameters. Apart from the synthesis of protective polymeric coatings, understanding the relationship between characteristics of coating materials and accompanying foul-release and antifouling mechanism is important. In this regard, efforts have been made to equally evaluate, simulate, and measure the appropriate performance of the coatings. By examining the physicochemical and mechanical properties of the polymers, adhesion behavior has been found to be one of the prerequisites for the success of polymeric coatings for marine applications. The potential development of a broad spectrum of methods used to evaluate the foul-release performance of polymeric coatings depending on adhesion behavior of fouling organisms with the coatings has been discussed. From the analysis of the factors affecting degradation of coatings, environmental interference is declared a key factor for complete degradation of polymeric coatings. This review opens up new research directions to improve the adhesion performance of polymeric coatings for ship hulls designed with tunable viscoelasticity by the incorporation of elastomeric polymers (like polydimethylsiloxane) into stiff polymers (like epoxy resins) with and without the utilization of additives, modifiers, and nano-fillers. In addition, it provides methods to improve the foul-release performance of such coatings that work on adhesion behavior of biofouling species attached to the coating surface.
