Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : To stay competitive and meet greenhouse gas emission targets, the aircraft industry needs to manufacture lighter and more efficient. This is why carbon fibre reinforced polymers are being introduced extensively into aircraft and aeroengine structures. However, the weight savings are being limited by factors such as the "black aluminium" approach, quasi-isotropic layup rules with minimum percentage in each fibre angle, minimum skin thickness and limitations in the material grades used. Considerable weight savings may be achieved by challenging the current design rules and introducing new material developments using thinner ply thicknesses. Stratifiés -- RuptureIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé :
Fractographic analysis, i.e. the examination and interpretation of fracture surfaces, provides an insight into the causes and location of failure. Previously considered as a "black art", specialists now relate fracture morphologies to failure mechanisms with confidence and provide information about the failure sequence and source of failure initiation. This technique gives great feedback and can allow better design for next-generation parts.Note de contenu : - Fig. 1.
