As the matrix continuity and the interfaces are affected, we cannot fully evaluate the performance of such 'self-healing' primers by eye. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) combined with thermocyclic electrolytic loading (TEL) contributes significantly to evaluating such systems. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Herein, surface modification of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) was conducted to enhance hydrophobicity via piranha etching and treatment with trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) and 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS). The surface-modified HNTs (m-HNTs) were added to the epoxy coating, and the corrosion protection performance was evaluated in terms of the mixing ratio. The m-HNTs were characterized by Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and field emission transmission electron spectroscopy. The addition of m-HNTs to the epoxy coating led to an improvement in its barrier and adhesion properties. In addition, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was conducted to evaluate the corrosion protection performance of the epoxy coating with different mixing ratios. Corrosion protection performance was successfully improved by an increase in m-HNTs. The results were in accordance with those of the barrier and adhesion properties.

ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Three two-layer heat-resistant and anticorrosion paints have been formulated from urethane siloxane binder and traditional anticorrosion pigments such as micaceous iron oxide (MIO), zinc phosphate (ZP), and aluminum oxide. These pigments were used as the dominant components of different undercoats or topcoats. Heat-resistant pigments such as silicon nitride and glass-spheres were used in the composition of the topcoats. Thermogravimetric analysis of paints shows that the paint with ZP as dominant component of the undercoat have the highest heat-resistance and stability in inert gas and oxygen. The paint with a combination of MIO and ZP has the best hardness as well as the best protective and anticorrosion properties based on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. A maximum synergic effect of the properties of pigments seems to appear in this paint. Surface morphology of paints was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy. Heated at different temperatures and for several hours, paint containing MIO as the dominant component in the undercoat exhibits the best mechanical and adhesion properties. Traitement de surface par impact
Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Surface preparation metrics for marine coatings - Protective coating systems provide the primary corrosion protection for assets in sea water. They are defined as a specific combination of surface preparation and coating material applied under specified conditions to a specific structure. Over many years, the paint industry has focused considerable resources toward the formulation, performance testing and fine tuning of coating materials. These efforts have produced outstanding results through implementation of advancements such as single-coat, ultra-high-solids paint for tanks, and by sharpening and implementing aggressive requirements in quality assurance and specification documents. Far less emphasis has been placed on understanding and refining the details of surface preparation and the effects of variations in these details on the subsequent performance of sea water immersion coatings. However, it is generally accepted that improper or inadequate surface preparation is a major contributor to real-world coating failures. Note de contenu : TABLE 1 : Grits tested

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Direct to metal (DTM) coatings provide advantages over the multilayer systems by reducing the number of application steps, lowering raw material costs and the need for active pigments. One approach receiving increasing interest in recent years has been the use of direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings can be used as replacements for two-layer primer and topcoat systems. Resin suppliers and coatings formulators are taking on the challenge of developing higher-performing, more environmentally friendly technologies for DTM applications in the industrial sector.
It gives high gloss, high solid formula. It can be used in indoor and outdoor application. DTM has resistance to moderate environment including intermittent exposure to water, salt, moisture and temperature. DTM can be applied directly to new or rusted metal. It forms tough and long lasting barrier. DTM gives excellent adhesion and prevents the rust.Note de contenu : - DIRECT TO METAL (DTM) COATINGS : Waterborne acrylic binder for DTM - Direct-to-metal (DTM) adhesion using organo-siloxane chemistry - Water-based coatings powered by NANO-VpCI - Novel waterborne acrylic/urethane hybrid technology - DTM coatings using molybdates : An alternative to hexavalent chromates in corrosion prevention and control - Fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) with an acrylic resin for DTM En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hcfvVYx4ZRpftyxZEEIBhZ8NVElJ-evH/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=24752
