The hybrid sols are prepared by hydrolysis and condensation of GPTMS and TMOS precursors in the presence of an acid, as catalyst, and EDA as curing agent. Considering their good electrical conductivity, indium tin oxide (ITO) nanoparticles are used as antistatic agents. To improve the distribution/dispersion of ITO nanoparticles in the polymer matrix, the surface of nanoparticles is modified with silane groups (m-ITO). The antistatic properties of the coatings, containing various amounts of m-ITO nanoparticles, are investigated through surface electrical resistivity measurements. FTIR is used to screen the reaction of epoxy groups and the effect of EDA on crosslinking in the hybrid coatings. Morphology, nanoparticle distribution and surface roughness of the coatings are studied through SEM and AFM microscopy techniques. Also, homogeneous distribution of ITO nanoparticles within the polymer matrix is confirmed by EDXA elemental mapping. The cubic shape and nanometric size of the nanoparticles in the hybrid coatings are monitored by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Note de contenu : - Materials

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyaniline (PANi) has been intensively incorporated in epoxy coatings as a conducting material. However, epoxy coatings containing PANi have poor mechanical properties. In this study, polyaniline/silica (PANi/SiO2) nanocomposites with different contents of silica were prepared via in situ chemical oxidative polymerization method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and zeta potential measurements were used to examine the structure and the morphology of synthesized PANi/SiO2 nanocomposites. The thermal and electrical properties of the nanocomposite were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and standard four-probe electrode method. It was shown that silica (SiO2) nanoparticles were covered by PANi in PANi/SiO2 nanocomposites and the electrical conductivity of nanocomposites decreased with the increase in SiO2 content. The PANi/SiO2 nanocomposite with 4.1 wt% SiO2 had a conductivity of 7.6 x 10-2 S/cm and that of PANi was 8.7 x 10-2 S/cm. Consequently, epoxy coatings containing 30 wt% PANi/SiO2 nanocomposites displayed a higher surface and volume resistance than the one containing pure PANi. In contrast, the increase in SiO2 content in PANi/SiO2 nanocomposite enhanced the mechanical properties of the epoxy coating, compared to epoxy coating containing pure PANi. The coating containing PANi/SiO2 nanocomposite with 17.2 wt% silica presented good mechanical properties (20 L/mil abrasion resistance, 100 kg cm impact strength) and admissible surface and volume resistivity (1.3 x 1011 Ω/cm2 and 6.6 x 10 10 Ω cm, respectively) for antistatic coatings. ZéolitesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (rr-P3HT) was employed as the supporting polymeric matrix to generate hybrid composite films by mixing with natural zeolites, ZnO, and TiO2. Several P3HT-based hybrid composite films were deposited by a convenient method, characterized, and applied to the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine 6G (R6G). The photocatalytic activity of the hybrid composite films was analyzed by degradation of R6G solutions (blank) under UV radiation (365 nm) and sunlight. It was observed that the photocatalytic activity of the composite films was higher as compared to the neat films of P3HT. This behavior was attributed to the extended photoresponse of the coupled organic–inorganic semiconductor system, facilitating separation of photogenerated carriers due to the strong interfacial interaction. The highest proportion of decolorization ratio of R6G obtained was close to 100%, and it was observed for the composite films P3HT/TiO2/ZnO and P3HT/chabazite/TiO2/ZnO under UV irradiation. Under sunlight, 99% and 97% decolorization ratios were obtained for P3HT/TiO2 and P3HT/TiO2/ZnO composite films, respectively. Note de contenu : - Materials

Tannage Résumé : A vinyl polymer/montmorillonite nanocomposite tannage was reacted with gelatin, and the changes of the molecular structure of gelatin before and after reaction were studied by UV and FT-IR spectra. The nanocomposite tannage was also reacted with hide powder and modified hide powder, the changes of shrinkage temperature, cooperating units and thermodynamic parameters of various hide powders were studied by DSC.
The results of the study show that the amino group of collagen is the main group which combines with the nanocomposite tannage and that the function of the carboxyl group of collagen is lower. The amino group in collagen is crosslinked with the carboxyl group of nanocomposite tannage by an amido bond. The complex of montmorillonite and vinyl polymer has certain cooperative effects.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Determination of UV spectrum of gelatin reacted with Vinyl polymer/montmorillonite nanocomposite tannage - The FT-IR analysis of gelatin reacted with vinyl polymer/montmorillonite nanocomposite tannage - DSC analysis

Textiles et tissus à usages techniquesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The Textile Technology Department of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences (Campus Pirmasens) is working on the development of hybrid structures based on bast and basalt fibers as reinforcement in composite materials. For this research work, only materials available on the market are used. In addition, the newly developed hybrid semi-finished products should be manufactured and processed in established processing methods (carding, needling, hot pressing, etc.). For the successful implementation of these novel materials, the mechanical properties of the hybrid structures must be significantly higher than those of pure bast fiber-reinforced composites. This paper presents the research using bast and basalt fibers (with a PP suitable sizing) as reinforcement in polypropylene matrix.
