Developing a multifunctional fabric with a low cost, fluorine-free, and easily controllable method is a great challenge. This paper reports a multifunctional fabric with conductive, UV blocking, superhydrophobic and photosensing properties via an electrodeposition method. ZnO nano-/microarchitectures have been electrodeposited on polyester fabric with a carbon black screen-printed conductive layer. The deposition was carried out in various operating parameters. The optimized conditions for the ZnO electrodeposition are at − 1.0 V for 30 min deposition time in 5 mM Zn(NO3)2 in 0.1 M KNO3 at room temperature. The developed fabric showed 100% UV radiation blocking and a water contact angle (WCA) of 156° after self-assembly of stearic acid on the ZnO layer. The modified fabric showed fast photoresponse as a photosensor, which indicates that this can be used as flexible wearable photosensors in practical applications.

ToxicologieIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The Environmental Protection Agency has legislated more stringent air quality laws which has created the need for new innovation in the development of low VOC coatings. In the quest for a more environmentally compliant coating, a number of new technologies have become available from coatings manufacturers. One field of study that has gained interest is that of radiation curable products initiated by either ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB). Ultraviolet light curable coatings are one component systems that combine the benefits of rapid film formation and low VOC into high quality coatings. This paper will discuss cationic and free radical polymerization, types of photoinitiators, toxicology, application, and potential markets. Note de contenu : - INTRODUCTION : Free radical versus cationic polymerization
- CATIONIC PHOTOINITIATORS : Aryldiazonium salts - Diaryliodonium salts - Sulphonium salts - Organometallic photoinitiators

These new raw materials can be formulated with conventional compounding ingredients and cationic photoinitiators and are easily crosslinked at a variety of coat weights with UV light. Benchmarking studies have shown that simple starting point KLP adhesive formulations achieved a comparable balance of high performance PSA properties when tested alongside a basket of commercially available acrylic adhesives and transfer tapes. In light of industry trends toward greater use of non-polar plastics, Kraton Liquid Polymer-based adhesives offer potentially significant improvements in both adhesion and cohesive strength when compared to acrylic-based adhesives on surfaces like polyethylene, polypropylene and TPO. The satured nature of these new liquid reactive raw materials provides good overall stability in a variety of challenging environments as determined by a series of accelerated aging studies. These novel raw materials could provide the PSA industry with new liquid reactive polymers that can be formulated to help meet the goal of reducing use of VOCs while achieving higher productivity and high performance.
