Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Microneedles are sharp microscopic features, which can be used for drug or vaccine delivery in a minimally invasive way. Recently, we developed a method to produce polymer microneedles using laser ablated molds in an injection molding process. At this moment, extensive injection molding experiments are needed to investigate the replication fidelity. Accurate predictions of the injection molding process would eliminate these costly and time expensive experiments. In this study, we evaluated the replication fidelity of solid polymer microneedles using numerical simulations and compared the results to injection molding experiments. This study was performed for different sizes of microneedles, different thermoplastics (polypropylene and polycarbonate) and different mold materials (tool steel, copper alloy and aluminium alloy). Moreover, different processing conditions and different locations of the microneedles on the macroscopic part were considered. A good correlation with experimental findings was achieved by optimizing the heat transfer coefficient between the polymer and the mold, while using a multiscale mesh with a sufficient number of mesh elements. Optimal heat transfer coefficients between 10,000 and 55,000 W/m2 K were found for the different combinations of polymer and mold materials, which resulted in an accuracy of the simulated microneedle replication fidelity between 94.5 and 97.0%. TitaneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Bamboo fibers (BFs) coated with titanium urushiol (BFTiU) was prepared by in situ reaction. Effects of activation time, urushiol concentration, reaction time and butyl titanate concentration etc on the coating ratio of BFTiU were investigated. On the other hand, the BFTiU was characterized by FTIR measurements, scanning electron microscope, thermo gravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The results showed that titanium urushiol compound was coated on the BFs by coordination reaction and the coating ratio of BFTiU reached 35% at the optimal preparation condition. It also could be found that BFTiU possessed better heat resistant properties than BFs. Due to titanium urushiol coated on BFs, the elongation at break, the maximum deflection and the bending strength of BFTiU/PP composites were 33%, 30 % and 10% higher than those of BP/PP composites respectively. Particularly, the tensile strength of BFTiU/PP composites was better than that of BP/PP composites at the presence of 70% BFTiU.
PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Biodegradable spun-bonded non-woven fabric slices of poly lactic acid (PLA)/polypropylene (PP) were prepared by melt blending. The influence of the proportion of raw materials, blending temperature, blending time and rotation speed on the mechanical properties and melt flow properties of the slices were investigated, the influence of the proportion of PLA and PP composite slices on the thermal properties and microstructure was also researched. According to the research results of optimization conditions, the biodegradable spun-bonded non-woven fabric slice of PLA/PP was prepared and its biodegradable performance was evaluated. The results showed that when (m)PLA : (m)PP was 8 : 2, blending temperature was 185 °C, blending time was 4 min and rotation speed was 50 min−1, the melt blending condition of PLA/PP composite slices was optimal. With the increase of PP mass fraction in slices, slices of melt flow rate (MFR) and glass transition temperature (Tg) were on the decline; T−50 %, T−95 % and TP were on the rise; the crystallinity of PLA/PP slices was increased; SEM results showed that the slices had “sea-island” structure. When (m)PLA: (m)PP was 8 : 2, microorganisms on the slices surface were second level of growth after 28 days which showed that the slices has a good biodegradable performance.
