Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, the atmospheric corrosive protection characteristics of four organic coatings were modeled based on the evolution of low-frequency impedance (|Z|ω→0) over time when subjected to accelerated tests and outdoor exposures. Environmental characteristics such as the time of wetness, chloride and sulfate depositions, and ultraviolet radiation were defined as explanatory variables. The results obtained helped to establish a relationship between |Z|ω→0, acquired from electrochemical impedance spectra, and the explanatory variables. An adjustment factor was calculated for each coating against the most aggressive natural exposure, resulting in a good prediction of |Z|ω→0 and the performance of the coatings for other outdoor tests. The formation of dark brown PAHP on copper surface was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, FTIR and scanning electron microscopy techniques. The corrosion characteristics of copper/PAHP electrode were evaluated by electrochemical methods and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in 3.5% NaCl solution. The obtained results indicated that PAHP thin film coating was an excellent inhibitor and controlled copper corrosion against corrosive agents in 3.5% NaCl solution.

(Wikipedia)
Matériaux -- BiodégradationIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The effectiveness of hydroxyapatite (HA) coating prepared by electrodeposition technique in improving the corrosion resistance of commercially pure magnesium (CP-Mg) in simulated body fluid (SBF) is addressed. The coating formed in as-deposited condition is identified as dicalcium phosphate dehydrate (DCPD) (Brushite), which is converted to HA after immersion in 1 M NaOH at 80°C for 2 h. The XRD patterns and FTIR spectra confirm the formation of DCPD and HA. During electrodeposition, the H2PO4 − ion is reduced and the reaction between Ca2+ ions and the reduced phosphate ions leads to the formation of DCPD, which is converted to HA following treatment in NaOH. The deposition of HA coating enables a threefold increase in the corrosion resistance of CP-Mg. The ability to offer a significant improvement in corrosion resistance coupled with the bioactive characteristics of the HA coating establish that electrodeposition of HA is a viable approach to engineer the surface of CP-Mg in the development of Mg-based degradable implant materials. ZincIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Zn-based coatings are extensively used for the protection of steel structures. Efforts toward further enhancement in the corrosion resistance performance of Zn coatings are therefore an area of continued interest. In this work, Zn-graphene oxide (Zn-GO) composite coatings containing different volume fractions of GO were electrodeposited on mild steel substrates using an electrolyte bath with different concentrations of dispersed graphene oxide. The electrodeposition parameters used yielded compact and crack-free morphology for all the coatings. Incorporation of GO led to a refinement of the Zn crystallites in the coating matrix. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements clearly showed that all the Zn-GO composite coatings exhibited higher corrosion resistance performance when compared to the pristine Zn coatings, and further, the corrosion rate decreased with the increase in the volume fraction of the GO in the composite coatings.
