The hydrophobic interaction between the O2 atom of NMMO and the unmodified CB surface increased with an increase in NMMO concentration. The interaction improved the dispersion of CB in aqueous NMMO solution, but this effect was not sufficient to prevent the aggregation between CB particles. Modifying the CB surface with a 1%-3% carboxyl or amino group produced a stronger electrostatic interaction between the polar groups and the solvent molecules; however, the carboxyl group had a significant influence on the chemical stability of NMMO. The amino group can realise the stable dispersion of CB in aqueous NMMO solutions without affecting the chemical stability of NMMO, which would be the best choice for preparation of functional lyocell fibre. In this work the films are prepared in Petri dishes and are tested in pure form, not applied over a leather surface. In this context, this paper evaluates films prepared with commercial polymeric resins polyurethanes and polyacrylates measuring the properties tensile strength resistance, elongation at break and toughness, the influence of the addition of pigments and its stability to water or organic solvent. The addition of pigments decreased the mechanical resistance for acrylic and polyurethane resins : The stability of the films with respect to water and solvents has shown that water soluble solvent components increased by the presence of pigment and the water absorption is higher and the solvent is lower in pigmented films to acrylates and polyurethanes. solvantsIndex. décimale : 541.33 Chimie physique - Chimie des surfaces (Phénomènes superficiels) Résumé : Les transformations se déroulant aux interfaces métal/eau sont la clé pour comprendre tout aussi bien la corrosion que le mouillage ou encore l’électrochimie et la catalyse hétérogène en milieu liquide. In this study, we examined how crosslinking reactions of hexamethylene diisocyanate isocyanurate and polyacrylate near the film-air (F-A) and film-substrate (F-S) interfaces in urethane coatings may affect crosslink density as well as other network properties. While at the initial stages of the crosslinking reactions, solvent evaporation competes with the urethane network formation and isocyanate consumption changes at various depths from the F-A and F-S interfaces. Quantitative analysis of the NCO consumption as a function of depth showed that the NCO concentrations change from 2.35 x 10-5 to 2.09 x 10-5 M, while going from 0.27 to 1.14 μm. During reaction times not exceeding two to three hours, the NCO consumption at the F-A and F-S interfaces is consumed more rapidly. At low relative humidity conditions, excessive amounts of unreacted NCO exists at both the F-A and F-S interfaces. However, at the extended reaction times, NCO concentration levels at the F-S are greater than at the F-A interface, and the NCO concentration differences can be as high as 3 x 10-5 M. In this study we also examined how crosslinking reactions of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) isocyanurate and polyacrylate near the F-S interfaces in urethane films may affect orientation and distribution of urethane functionalities.

Tannage au chromeIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Novel deep eutectic solvents for the purpose of the reduction of water usage in leather manufacturing.
Water in the wet processes of leather manufacture acts as a solvents, transportation medium, support system and is an integral component of the collagen matrix stability at the macro and molecular levels. There have been proposals as to what extent water can be substituted with non-aqueous media, partly due to its role in collagen and processing. As the water content increases from bulk to float water, the system acts as a transport medium for chemicals as well as a support system in processing vessels. Here, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are investigated as an alternative solvent system to conventional tanning systems.Note de contenu : - TABLE : The cabinet conditions of leather samples prior to testing
