TresseIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Two-step parametric models of braided structures can be used for the visualisation of braids for composites at the filament level. Such models allow quick preliminary checking of braids, identifying the required braiding machine and material, and performing the initial optimisation of the complete product.

Textiles et tissusIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : To date, the Turkish shipyard Yonca-Onuk JV has produced several MRTP fast patrol motor boats in lengths of 15, 29, and 33 metres and with maximum continuous speeds in excess of 42-45 knots. These boats are used for coastsurveillance to combat illicit activities such as drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and many others. Their performance is obtained with advanced materials such as KEVLAR® para-aramid fibre, an original hull laminate design, and a good control of all the fabrication parameters. ThermodurcissablesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Aside from high part costs, investment and development costs often constitute an additional obstacle to the implementation of lightweight solutions in fiber-reinforced plastic composites. In particular, parts that are produced by reactive processing require an integrated approach to product and process development. Systematic process simulation affords a way of considerably boosting efficiency during development. Note de contenu : - Material selection : various factors are decisive
- Preliminary trials : ensuring a sound data basis
- Preforming : avoiding defects
- Mold concept : Avoiding the need for downstream optimization

Technique de la productionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Trend report (Part 2) : The expansion of fiber composites in a wide variety of applications, but particularly in automotive engineering, necessitates the use of cost-efficient materials and processes. A reduction in costs by approx. 20 to 40 % through the use of more cost-efficient fibers and improved textile production methods together with a higher degree of automation in the production processes should be possible by 2020.
