Sol-gel, ProcédéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new type of UV-curable organic–inorganic hybrid oligomer was synthesized from vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS), tetraethylorthosilicate, and colloidal silica (CS) using a sol–gel method. UV-curable hybrid hard coating formulations were then prepared by mixing the organic–inorganic hybrid oligomer and acrylic monomers, trimethylolpropane triacrylate and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate, with a levelling agent and a photoinitiator. The oligomer was hydrolyzed and condensed from alkoxysilane and CS to obtain the UV-cured hybrid films. The hybrid oligomer and resulting hybrid films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry to confirm the chemical functionality, oxo-silicon signal, cross-sectional morphology, and transparency, respectively. When the concentration of the CS/VTMS mixture in the organic–inorganic hybrid oligomer was 0.50 mol, remarkable pencil hardness (up to 5H) with excellent transparency was observed. The hardness and transparency of the UV-cured hybrid coating films were improved significantly by increasing the CS content in the organic–inorganic hybrid oligomer. Note de contenu : - Viscosity

TétraéthoxysilaneIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A UV-curable inorganic/organic hybrid coating was prepared from a methacrylated urethane oligomer, a reactive diluent, tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) oligomers, and a free radical photoinitiator. The reactive diluent was synthesized using IPDI, HEMA, and aminopropyltetraethoxysilane (APTES), resulting in both inorganic and organic reactive groups. The photocuring kinetics was investigated using photo-DSC and real-time FTIR spectroscopy. The effect of the reactive diluent and TEOS oligomers concentration was investigated using impact resistance, pencil hardness, and adhesion. Two glass transition temperatures were observed, indicating a substantial interfacial phase generated between the inorganic and organic domains. The reactive diluent-to-reactive oligomer ratio had a larger effect on the mechanical behavior of the system than the TEOS concentration did. Adhesion improves with increasing TEOS oligomer concentration or reactive diluent concentration until maxima, after which increasing concentration has an adverse effect on adhesion. FTIR, 1H NMR, and GPC were used to characterize the structures of PPFOMA-GMA, PHFBMA-GMA, and HPEGEA. The influence of the concentrations of PPFOMA-GMA and PHFBMA-GMA on the properties of waterborne epoxy acrylate (WEA) resin coatings was investigated. The surface energy of waterborne epoxy acrylate coating was decreased from 38.20 mN/m to 15.31 mN/m by adding just 0.21 wt% PPFOMA-GMA, indicating its high effectiveness in improving the hydrophobic properties of the surface. The surface compositions of the WEA resin coatings (with 0.85 wt% PPFOMA-GMA or 0.85 wt% PHFBMA-GMA) were characterized by XPS. The XPS results confirmed the quantitative enrichment of fluorine atoms on the surface. What is more, the physical properties of waterborne epoxy acrylate coatings prepared with different concentrations of fluorinated reactive additive, such as optical transmittance, adhesion (on glass, PET, and tinplate), pencil hardness, water absorption, and thermal properties, were also analyzed in detail. Hence, the waterborne epoxy acrylate coatings prepared with low concentrations of reactive additives were economical and have potential for large-scale industrial applications.
